Chapter Two

I felt immense pain in my wrists and my head throbbed intensely as I slowly opened my eyes, blinking rapidly as I tried to process where I was. It was bright outside, and I was hung from a noose, my feet standing on a bucket beneath me. I felt myself shiver from the cold weather, my jacket was removed by the scars before they hung me, at least it wasn't snowing yet. I watched as a few scars walked among the woods further away, and I glanced at everything by me. There were a few more WFL bodies hung beside me, one seemed alive but the rest were gutted and dead. "Abby..?" I whispered, trying not to alarm any scars.

I heard a cough from nearby and I darted my eyes to the sound, but it was coming from behind me.

"She's not here.." A soft voice spoke out, it sounded barely alive. Man fuck these scars.

"What do you mean.." I mumbled back.

"I saw them arrive with you two, she was conscious and fought them, she managed to escape." The man's voice told me with coughs in between. I bit my lip harshly, trying to think this through, Abby left me? Fuck, I had to figure a way out of here.

"They're going to come for you once they realize you're awake, and they will gut you." The man whispered to me, I watched the scars carefully in the distance, making sure not to move when their heads turned to me. I was so screwed, I saw no way out of this..or if I did, I wouldn't have enough time. Think Luna, think.

I began to wriggle my wrists delicately hoping to loosen the rope that bound my wrists together. A whistle alarmed me in the distance and I felt myself begin to panic, wriggling wasn't working, I needed to think, and fast. My eyes met those of two scars making their way towards me, their scars on their cheeks making me disgusted, I hated these cult hypnotized idiots.

"Looks like she is awake.." One of the scars spoke with a look of amusement, a blade in his hand, the other scar walked closer to my hanging body, placing it's hand along my abdomen as it lifted my shirt.

"We have to start." The girl's voice was deep, she pulled her hood off her head, she was extremely beautiful. If only she didn't have those ugly ass marks along her cheeks. Her blue eyes sparkled from the excitement to gut me. She slowly turned to the man behind her reaching for the blade, but right before she could I swung myself onto her, grabbing her with my legs wrapping my thighs tightly around her neck. Her height helped me catch my breath again. The other scar seemed panic, unsure how to act, he watched as the girl slammed her hands against my thighs.

"If you whistle I'll snap her neck. I want you to cut me down." I demanded, the scar seemed panicked, and he had no time to think about what the right thing to do was, he clearly wasn't intelligent enough to process how impossible it would be for me to snap her neck. He rushed over to me, cutting my wrists free, I hurried to grab the knife in my boot as he began to cut me down from the tree. I felt all my body weight fall onto the beautiful girl who was just between my thighs. My skin hit the cold snow.

"Are you okay?" The scar rushed to the girl's safety. If I were to assume, they were a couple, and this was my lucky day. I took the noose off my neck and looked at the man who helped me a moment ago, he was a WFL, and I cut him down quickly as the scar was occupied with the woman, her loud coughs echoing in the trees.

"We have to run." I spat at the man, throwing his arm over my shoulder, he was gutted, barely alive..fuck. I ran holding him up as best as I could, but it was no use. I heard loud whistles following from behind, I was petrified. I had no idea where we were going, everything looked the same.

"Luna.." The man spoke into my ear as I continued sprinting through the heavy snow.

"I'm slowing you down..I won't make it either way.."
