The three of us sat before the monopoly board now, we all had a decent amount of properties, there was no lead in the game yet.I watched as Dina rolled, moving her character along the board, landing on Ellie's yellow property.
"Pay up.." She shot Dina a sassy grin as she held her hand out to her, awaiting the money. She proceeded to slap the money into her palm and rolled her eyes.
"Oh is someone a sore loser?" Ellie raised an eyebrow at her friend, teasing her.
"I won't be losing." Dina handed me the dice, not glancing at Ellie.
I threw the dice onto the board and moved my pawn onto another yellow, the one she was missing.
"I'll take it." I handed Dina the cash and my eyes looked over to Ellie, she rolled her eyes harshly.
"I like the sore loser look on you.." Dina commented, and I chuckled. By the look on Ellie's face she was very unimpressed with us.
After a few hours of consecutive monopoly, we made the group decision to stop playing. Although we weren't truly done with the game, I won by having the most money.
"Did you take more of the meds?" Dina asked me as she laid onto the couch, pulling a blanket she had found over herself.
"Yeah I did. Thanks for checking." I smiled softly at her and she smiled back. Ellie cleared her throat as she made her way to us from the staircase.
"There's a bed upstairs, if you hadn't seen it earlier. Sleep there." The freckled girl told me, she was extremely unwelcoming in her statement. I got some flirty energy from the girls this evening, so it was best I left them alone anyways.
"Goodnight." I waved to Dina and she grinned watching me as I made my way to the staircase, Ellie not even acknowledging me.I walked around the library after petting the horses instead of making my way into bed and searched through the novels. I was way too wired to sleep now, too much had happened today. Abby kept racing through my thoughts, if she was searching for me? She probably thought I was dead by now..I ignored the persistent thoughts as I picked up another book, it was a book about the moon landing that happened in 1969.
"That's a good one." The girl's voice caught me off guard and I quickly turned to her.
"Guess I'll have to read it then." I placed the book under my arm and watched as the pretty girl stepped towards the bookshelf. I was aware I wasn't in the position to be asking Ellie any questions, she made it very clear she was in the power position, and she seemed threatening so i'd rather be obeying and try to get her to trust me.
"You don't have family..or even friends?" She randomly asked as she picked up a book, avoiding looking towards me.
"No..I've been traveling alone for a few months, I've been in groups before..I just usually had trouble adjusting to their ways of living and morals." I admitted to her as my eyes watched her fingers slide across the book she was holding. I wasn't completely lying to her, it was true, most of the groups I've come across were bad, and this includes the WFL. I wanted to leave eventually, but I got too attached to Abby, and the rations were like royalty compared to other situations I've been in. It was just easy to turn your back to Issac and his power hungry persona, when you had a nice bedroom and a hot meal everyday.
"You must be lonely," Her head turned to me and I saw some sympathy in her eyes, it was a refreshing change from her usual cold gaze. I nodded, holding my eyes on hers, if I looked away she would be able to tell I was lying. I wasn't lonely, but I needed weapons, shelter and food, and Ellie seemed like the key to all these things. "I'm sure you'll find a group eventually." She turned away, placing the book back on the shelf.
