CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION : AURORA WHITTLE

Third person POV :

"Aurora!" Called a man for the third time , but the girl in the question seemed to be lost somewhere. The girl beside Aurora tapped the desk loudly and it seems it did the trick. Aurora snapped out of her daze and looked up to her Mathematics sir glaring at her. "Yes sir!" She said quickly. Being at the recieving end of his glare was not something anyone fancied to do. "Aurora, what is it with you today? All the other teachers also told me that you haven't been paying attention today in any of the classes. Are you sick?" He asked concerned for her.

Now, don't misunderstand Aurora . She is a very bright student and is always first to answer the questions any teacher asks. It's just she had a lot on her mind today. Really weird things have been happening to Aurora for the past few weeks. She can't seem to find any explanation and the only conclusion she gets to is her being crazy and imagining stuff.

"I'm sorry sir, it's just I haven't been able to sleep yesterday night . So I'm having a really bad headache." She replied to him. " You should have stayed in then Aurora. You are a clever girl, I'm sure you could catch up later. I hope you won't repeat this again." "Yes sir."

She didn't lie though . She really didn't get any sleep after what happened yesterday. It was strange that she really wanted to eat peanut butter but it was on the top shelf and she was too lazy to get it. She slumped down in her chair and stared at the butter longingly and the next thing she knew the peanut butter jar was in front of her on the table. She was confused. Was her eye sight so bad that she didn't see the jar? Or did the jar really fly on to the table?

Not just that , strange things have always happened to Aurora. Like the time when she was really in urgent need of washroom and the next moment she found herself in washroom. She didn't understand a bit with what was going on.

*BELL RINGS*

Children began packing their bags to go home as it is the end of school and start of summer holidays. Everyone began going out talking excitedly about their summer plans. Aurora had no plans except for staying in St . Nique's orphanage which is her home. She stayed back untill everyone went out of the class and slowly started making her way out. One thing about Aurora is that she despises any kind of physical contact with anyone, even if it was a mistake. And she made sure to tell her classmates and teachers . That's why girl from earlier tapped the desk instead of her shoulder. Thanks to her old orphanage home that she despised physical contact . Yes, St.Niques orphanage wasn't her first orphanage. She was sent from her old orphanage when she was 5 years old because the owner of that place suddenly died and no one was willing to take it's ownership . So all the children there were shifted to other orphanages. She was quiet glad that the devil of an owner died . You see the owner was an abusive lady and a drunkard too. She doesn't show mercy on anyone. It's been 5 years Aurora has developed her hate for physical contact.

Aurora is normally an active kid filled with loads of energy and mischievous glint in her hazel eyes throughout the day but lately all she can think is about these strange incidents. Her brain which is normally filled with pranks to play on her friends at orphanage or regarding studies, is now only filled with ; 'what is happening with me?' Or 'Am I going mad or something?' She just hopes that she will find an answer in these holidays or she might as well join a hospital for the mentally disturbed.
