Chapter 28: Inner turmoil

(A/N: Alright, I'm on a roll! I'm honestly feeling pretty good and it helps that I woke up this morning, seeing a bunch of positive feedback from my latest one shot. If you haven't read it yet, I recommend it, it my favorite thing I've written to date. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!)

Izuku and Kaina were both walking towards their testing area. Kaina was preparing some bullets in advance from her hair, while Izuku was starring at the ground, thinking to himself.

He was brought out of his trance when Kaina elbowed him. "Yo, you doing alright, Izuku?"

He looked up at Kaina. "Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'm just... feeling a bit weird." He looked back down, looking at his hand.

"You're not getting sick or something are you?" She asked, concerned.

Izuku shook his head. "No. Heh, honestly, I haven't gotten sick since I got my quirk," Izuku said, rubbing the back of his head. "No, I'm... not really sure what it is. Maybe it's just anticipation building or something."

"*sigh* Alright. Just let me know if it gets bad or something, okay?" Izuku nodded, looking at his hand, closing it into a fist.

Izuku and Kaina were walking through the forest area. Izuku tried sniffing around to see if he could smell All Might. "Ugh, no good. There are way to many scents around. They must have done something."

"Well, just keep your eyes and ears open, then. We can't be sure when he'll attack."

Izuku nodded as they continued to make their way through. As they were walking, a strong gust of air came through, blowing away a few trees. Izuku jumped in front of Kaina, wrapping his tail around her waist and blocking most of the air from hitting her.

"You alright?" He asked, looking back at her.

She nodded. "Yeah."

Izuku looked back, smelling something coming close to them quickly. His eyes flashed to red, knowing exactly what it was. All Might landed in front of him, smiling but with an angry look in his eyes.

Izuku looked at him, that growing feeling spreading quickly.

"So what's the plan, Izuku?" Kaina asked. Izuku didn't answer her, confusing her. "Izuku?" She looked at him, hearing him begin letting out a deep, guttural growl. She felt his tail slowly, gently unwrap itself from her, before Izuku jumped towards All Might. Kaina reached out to the dragon. "Izuku!"

Everyone from class 1-A was watching Izuku and Kaina's test. Izumi was keeping a particularly close eye on Izuku since she'd had a growing bad feeling.

But when All Might showed up, Izuku was... different. He always had a bit of an animalistic style to his fighting but now... something wasn't right.

She looked over at Recovery Girl who seemed to be watching intently before returning her own gaze back to the screen. 'Izuku...'

Izuku flew towards All Might, unable to control himself. Everything in him screamed for him to attack All Might. That he tried to hurt Kaina. That he'd hurt Izumi.

Izuku reared back his fist, punching the hero, who blocked the punch. "Aha ha ha! You've made a foolish mistake charging at me!" All Might said. He looked at Izuku's face, making him flinch at the expression of pure rage he had. He felt the strength of Izuku's punch slowly increasing and beginning to push him back.

Before he realized it, Izuku overpowered him, sending him flying back, crashing through trees. Izuku jumped after All Might, grabbing him and dragging him through the dirt as the two continued flying.

All Might groaned, feeling his body being used to bore a trench through the ground. Reaching out, he grabbed Izuku and pulled him, replacing himself with izuku, dragging the dragon on through the dirt in his place.

"Your not winning, Izuku!" All Might shouted.

Izuku didn't hear him. 'Kill him.' A voice said in his head. 'He hurt you. Hurt your sister. He deserves it.' Izuku tried to ignore it.

'I don't... want to kill anyone...'

The voice just laughed at him. 'If that were true, would you be losing control like you are?'

Izuku crashed through another tree, stopping all of his momentum. Izuku felt his control loosen even more. His eyes began to glow even brighter. He brought his claws up, aiming for All Might's chest.

At the last second, All Might jumped away, slashes in his suit opening but no marks on his skin. He breathed a sigh of relief but stopped when Izuku began pulling himself up.

The growling he heard sent chills down his spine. He was caught off guard when Izuku vanished, punching All Might in his gut. He flew back, pain coursing through his old injury as blood began to escape his mouth. He finally crashed, and pulled himself up. He felt himself weakening already. He held his gut where he was punched. 'Damn it. I can be... already!'

All Might tried to summon up all of his strength as Izuku came flying in. He went to punch the boy, only to meet a fist that was aimed at him. The two tried to push the other back. Neither was willing to lose ground. But all of a sudden, pain shot through All Might. He looked down and saw a green tail pushing against his wound.

He felt himself weakening. Faltering for a second, he ended up being pushed back, unable to regain lost ground. Izuku had punched the hero into the ground, leaving him in a small crater. Izuku walked towards him.

All Might tried to get up. He tried to pull himself to his feet but before he could, he felt a fist connect to his face. He felt his power leaving him. He was weakening. Izuku kept punching him, that voice in his head egging him on further and further.

At this point, he felt himself deflating. Steam came off his body. Izuku stopped, seeing the now skeleton of a man there. He reached down and grabbed the hero by his suit and pulled him up. With his other hand, he readied his claws.

Kaina was running through the forest as fast as she could. She knew something was wrong with Izuku. She needed to get to him. Then she saw him. Izuku, standing over a shriveled up All Might, his claws seemed to aimed at his chest. She ran even faster than she ever had and stood in between the two. "Izuku stop!"

"M-Move... p-pl..." Kaina could hear the struggle in Izuku's voice.

"No! Something is wrong with you! I won't leave you!"

Izuku couldn't move. He tried to fight against his feelings. He wanted to kill the man he was holding. But... he didn't want to.

Kaina walked closer to Izuku, resting a hand on his face. "Izuku, you aren't a monster. You care deeply about people. Even All Might. I know you don't want to do this. Something wants you too but it isn't you."

Izuku felt tears welling up in his eyes. He felt his power fading. His eyes returned to their normal green. Kaina kissed him, a kind smile gracing her face. "I...I'm sorry."

Kaina shook her head. "Don't be. Now sleep." Almost immediately, Izuku fell asleep leaning against the woman. Kaina struggled to hold Izuku up and looked back at All Might. She pulled out a pair of cuffs and quickly put them on his wrist as she tried to balance Izuku on her back.

"You passed!" Kaina hear the principal's voice off in the distance and made her way back to the school.
