Harley was a simple 22 year old who lived with her grandma Anne and great-grandma Penny. Harley out of her somewhat large family, is closest to her grandmas. Harley's grandmas have been there for her since she was a child, and the bond they have has only grown stronger over time. They have been her support system and provided her with unconditional love and acceptance, which is why she is closest to them. While Gramie Penny is a Christian and heavily believes in God, Jesus and the virgin Mary, she wholeheartedly supports Harley in her ideas, beliefs, and sexuality.
Harley doesn't even know her sexuality. She just knows that she definitely likes women, but men? Men are okay she just hasn't met a guy she would be willing to date. She would rather stay single than date someone she isn't into. She is still figuring out who she really is and exploring her identity. She is open to learning more about herself and discovering what she really likes.
"Angel, can you bring this box to the basement?" Gramie Penny asked. Angel is Harley's nickname that only Gramie Penny can call her. Harley got the nickname because as an infant Harley was rather calm than other kids. Gramie Penny always remembered how Harley had earned her nickname. She smiled as she watched Harley grab the box and head downstairs. Gramie Penny was proud of her grandchild.
In the basement of the house they lived in. Harley put down the box on the pool table that no one has used since Harley could remember. As Harley was about to leave, she noticed a strange-looking mirror. Harley has been living with her Grand's ever since she was 17, plus the years she lived there before her mom moved and brought her and her siblings with her, and she has never noticed that mirror. Taking a closer look at the mirror, Harley noticed that it seemed to be emitting a faint glow. She reached out and touched the glass, and suddenly felt a surge of energy course through her body. Then her hand went in, like she pushed her hands into a bucket of slime. However, Harley tried to pull her hand back and she couldn't. Her anxiety rose as the mirror started to pull her in.
Harley seems to black out, because the next thing she knows, she is in some type of medieval looking hospital room. She quickly looks around and notices she is surrounded by people in strange outfits, speaking in hushed voices. She is completely confused and terrified. "Oh, stop whispering. She's awake." Harley snaps her head to the other side of the bed and sees a sweet old woman. The old woman smiles and holds Harley's hand. "Don't worry my dear, you are safe here. You are currently at Hogwarts. Can you tell us your name?"
"Harley. My name is Harley Gabriel."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Harley," the woman says. "Welcome to Hogwarts." She pats Harley's hand and stands up. "I'm sure you have many questions. I'll go get the Headmaster for you." She turns to leave the room. Harley watches the woman leave, her heart racing. She can't believe she is finally here. Taking a deep breath, she looks around the room, taking in her new surroundings.
"Ah I was wondering when you wake up." Harley looked at the person who said that. Albus Dumbledore. He was tall and thin, with a long, white beard that reached past his waist and a pair of half-moon spectacles perched on his nose. He was also known for wearing long, purple robes and often carrying a silver-topped wand. "I am Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of this school. You gave the teachers and I a little fright when you appeared in my mirror. I must ask how you did that."
"I'm not sure. Last thing I remember was being pulled into a mirror in my gram's basement."
Dumbledore looked at the girl in surprise. "Interesting," he murmured. "I think I have an idea of what happened. Please follow me."
Harley decided not to get on his bad side. She knew little about Dumbledore except that he once dated the dark Lord before Tom Riddle.
Dumbledore led her through a small door hidden in the wall. They walked through a long, winding corridor until they reached a large chamber with a long wooden table in the center. Sitting at the table were the other four Hogwarts professors, Professor McGonagall, Professor Snape, Professor Flitwick, and Professor Sprout.
"Professors met Harley. Severus, I assume you have the Veritaserum prepared."
"Of course." Snape came over to Harley. Harley was on guard. She didn't like Snape, he was almost as bad as Umbridge.
"I'll do it myself." Harley said.
"I am more then capable to do this, I am a potions master and someone of your age can't possibly know what to do with this."
"Severus let her do it herself."
"No, I must do it. I know what I'm doing!"
"Severus, you're not helping. She seemed perfectly capable of handling it."
"Fine, but if it fails I'm not to blame."
Harley took the potion and placed a few (exactly 3) on her tongue. She felt it tingle on her tounge, almost like tasteless pop-rocks. Dumbledore asked Harley, "What do you remember about being pulled into the mirror? How did you do it? What do you know about the dark Lord? What do you think happened to you?"
Harley answered with, "The mirror pulled me into it and it absorbed me. I have no idea how I did it and I do not want to know. I know that the Dark Lord wouldn't have become the Dark Lord if Dumbledore and the previous headmaster didn't say 'I don't care about your living situation, you're going back to the orphanage' and many other things but I can't name them all. Also, I have no idea what happened to me."
Many looked shocked. They way she said all that, it was clear that she was something else. But how could a child make them freeze like that?
Switch to Harley's POV
I watch as the teachers look at me that my emphasis ability can't detect. I have always been about to read people's emotions, I guess that's what made me so likeable? I can't say for sure.
One thing for sure, I'm in Harry Potter. What did that mirror do to me? On the outside I am indifferent but on the inside I am freaking out. What if I can't get back? What if I'm a muggle? I mean, I did practice witchcraft but I didn't do it often because Gram doesn't like it. It was her house so I basically only did kitchen, green, lunar, cosmic and lunar magic. I also mainly kept my witchcraft ideas in my room, in a box, under my bed. Oh my God, Grams! Grandma! They need me! Uncle Joe moved out with Tía a year ago and they don't have anyone else to help them out since they moved about 2 hours away.
"Sweetheart are you okay?" I heard someone ask me. I can't help but see blurred spaces. Is my vision going back again? Suddenly, I felt dizzy and her vision blurred. I stumbled, reaching out in an attempt to steady myself, but to no avail. My knees buckled and my body slumped to the ground as the world became black.
