Chapter 28

                                Jaxon's POV
I held his hand while we walked to the kitchen. I opened the snack drawer.

"What do you want? Does it matter?"

He shook his head. I picked up a mini bag of pretzels. I opened them, then handed them to Ace.

"Yay! Tank you!"

"You're welcome."

I went and made myself something to eat. We went into the dining room and I put my plate on the table. I helped Ace hop onto the chair. I sat down and we started eating.

"Did you sleep okay?"

He shrugged.

"Okay? Did you have any bad dreams?"

"No."

"Did you have trouble falling asleep?"

"I woke up."

"And you couldn't go back to bed right? That happens to everyone."

"I wanna sweep."

"Awwww buddy. Do you want to sleep in my room with me and mommy?"

"Yesth pwease."

"Okay. You can sleep in my room tonight. I'll wake mommy up and tell her."

We finished eating then cleaned up.

"Alright. Let's go brush our teeth again."

We went to the bathroom and I picked him up. I put him in front of me. He faced the mirror and sat on his knees. I wrapped one of my arms around him. We got everything and started brushing our teeth.

We finished then put everything away.

"Okay ready?"

I picked him up and started putting him on the floor.

"WEEEEEE!"

I chuckled.

"You are just like your mommy."

"Rwelly?"

I smiled.

"Yeah. It's a good thing. It's not a bad thing."

I hope...

I'm raising you right.

Ace yawned.

"Awww. Do you need a new diaper before we go to sleep?"

"I dunno."

"Okay. Let's go do that and then go back to sleep."

We went back to his room. I changed his diaper then he wandered to my room.

"Where're you going?"

"Mama!"

I followed him to my room. The bathroom door opened and Ace ran right up to Frostlily.

"Hi mama!"

"Hey buddy. What are you doing up so late?"

"He was hungry. He had some pretzels when I had a late night dinner. He also said he woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. He's gonna sleep in here tonight."

We all laid down. Ace laid down in my arms. He nuzzled up against me then wrapped his tiny arms around me. I made sure the blanket was covering him enough.

A few weeks later...it was Ace's birthday.

"Happy birthday little man!"

He was meeting a few new people at his birthday party. He hid behind me. I put my hand on his head.

"You're okay."

"I stay?"

"Stay by me?"

He nodded.

"Okay. That's fine. I'll watch you play with your cousins."

We went to the living room and sat down on the floor with some of his cousins. I watched them play together. Ace handed me a toy after a while.

"Pway?"

I took the toy and started playing with him. After a while, he jumped into my lap and started hugging me.

"Awwwww Ace. Are you okay?"

He nodded.

"Did you just want a hug?"

He nodded again. He started hugging me tighter. He nuzzled up against me. I started holding the back of his head. I kissed the side of his head. He let me go then turned around. He sat down in my lap.

Shawn and her mate walked up to us. Damian put their daughter down and she crawled over to Ace.

"Rena!"

Shawn sat down behind Rena.

"Hey sis. How've you been?"

"Okay. Still adjusting to her crawling all over the place. I can't leave her alone. I turned around for a second and she just disappears."
