Bee sped down the road and into Los Angeles. I noticed Ray's eyes light up as we entered the large city. Many cars, trucks and even motorcycles were zooming down the byways. Crowds roamed the streets and the sun shone down brightly.
"Hey Look!" Ray abruptly exclaimed, grabbing my shoulder excitedly. "There's a baseball field, whose team, is it?"
I glanced out her window towards the large stadium as we passed by. "The LA Angels." I grinned, her enthusiasm catching on. "They're a professional MLB team."
"Wow!" Ray's eyes were wide as we passed by heading into a residential neighborhood.
All of a sudden Bee screeched to a halt and I was thrown back. My head slammed on the headrest and clutching it with one hand, I glared at the autobot. "Hey, what the heck man?"
The radio whirred on as the two front doors flew open. "Walk this way. Talk this way..."
My seatbelt unbuckled and I ran my hand through my thick curly brown hair. "Well fine, I'll get out."
Slipping out of Bumblebee, I walked around the car, traffic beeping as cars flew by, to the sidewalk where Ray stood.
"Where are you going Bee?" Ray asked, an expression of bewilderment on her face.
"Off to meet....the big boss..." The doors slammed shut and Bee sped off, loud rap music blaring from his stereos.
Ray laughed and I rolled my eyes. Show off.
"So..." Ray turned to me. "What do we do now?"
"I have no idea," Frowning, I took in our surroundings. We were standing on the sidewalk of a quiet residential neighborhood. Children played in front of a house nearby with a fluffy golden retriever.
The smallest toddler threw a ball, and it landed in front of me. At once the dog charged towards me and before I knew it, I was on the ground, slobbery dog drool all over my face.
"Hey Buddy," I grinned, scratching behind the dog's ear as I sat up.
"Sorry Mister!" one of the children shouted as the three of them ran over.
"It's okay," I stroked the dog's fur. With a grin, I picked up the wet tennis ball. "Ready boy?" The retriever barked. "Catch!" I threw the ball towards his house.
At once the retriever was off with a loud bark.
I took this chance to climb to my feet. "He sure loves to play catch," Ray commented with an amused smile. "I think he likes you."
"Uh-huh," Rolling my eyes, I wiped my hands off my jeans. Then I turned to the kids. "What's his name?"
"Buddy," the tallest, a boy who looked to be about ten said with a grin. "Just like in the movies."
"Well you guys have fun with Buddy," I smiled.
"Thanks!" the children waved as they ran back up the lawn and to the house. Laughter and screams of joy mixed with barking as the foursome took back up their game of catch.
"Do you think we can go on a walk and look around?" Ray inquired; eyes bright with curiosity. "I've never been to Los Angeles before."
With a slight frown, I then shrugged. "I can't see why not," I grabbed her hand and grinned. "I'm sure Bee will still be able to find us-when he decides to come back."
"He always does," Ray insisted with childlike faith. We began walking down the sidewalk, hand in hand, arms swinging.
There was a comfortable brisk breeze as the afternoon sun shone down on us.
