Arabella P.O.V.

I stood in my room for a few seconds, the laughter rising in my throat slowly fading away. When I was calm enough, I sat on my bed, and a smile dawned on my face when I remembered my brief but meaningful conversation with Jack. It seemed so unreal, and yet he was coming again tonight and he was going to give me answers.

I lay back on my bed, my smile growing, and I laughed a little. All I could think about was how cute he was-blame the hormones, I guess. After two years, an attractive boy had finally noticed me and didn't think I was a freak or a weirdo.

Even though this boy was immortal and probably way older than I was, despite the way he looked. But even that didn't really damper my thoughts, and I probably was there on my bed for a full minute smiling to myself like an idiot before I realized that Jack could have been watching me. So I sat up, and tried as best as I could to wipe the smile off of my face.

Out of habit, I grabbed my sketch pad from my bedside table and started to draw. My hand sort of drew almost by itself before I realized that I was drawing a picture of Jack, but now his face had more definition and detail-probably the best picture I had drawn of any Guardian, and probably the best drawing I had done since my my psychologist told me to start sketching what I saw in my hallucinations.

When I was finished, I tore the paper from the pad and left the picture on my bedside table. I then changed in my pajamas-long soft gray pants and a short sleeved white t-shirt, and I put on my combat boots just in case.

I sat on my bed for a few seconds, but then I couldn't sit still so I got up and started to pace around my room-an unusual habit for me, since I was usually calm and quiet. When the air suddenly got a little too chilly for me, I reached into my closet, took out my dark gray hoodie, and pulled it on.

Just then, I heard the sound of the balcony windows slam open, and I quickly ran over to them and looked around outside, leaning on the balcony railing. But the only thing that greeted me was cold air and the stars sparkling at me from high above, so I just sighed and closed the window. "Yeah, like he would be here now." I muttered, shaking my head as I locked the window.

"You have a nice room." A familiar voice said.

I gasped, my heart hammering in my chest, and when I turned around I was greeted with mischievous blue eyes and a sparkling smile.

Jack Frost was standing near my bed next to my bedside table, his hands in his hoodie pocket as he smiled at me. His staff was leaning against the wall, and I could see small flecks of snow in his hair.

I let out a sigh of relief and grinned, my stomach knotting itself as he held my gaze. After standing there for a moment, he sat down on my bed and looked around, and his gaze landed on the sketch I just finished. Jack picked it up immediately, frowning as he looked at it, and I slowly walked over and sat next to him. "You did this?" He asked, looking at me. I nodded, and gestured to the other drawings on the wall, saying, "Yep, and I did all of these on the wall."

Without saying another word, he stood and put his hands behind his back while holding my drawing, and he started to slowly inspect each of my pieces. Feeling slightly uncomfortable, I said, "Most of them aren't really that good..."

"Actually, these are really good! You captured each of the Guardians perfectly." Jack said, sounding surprised. I chuckled, and was about to thank him when he took in a sharp breath and stepped back. I looked where he was looking and saw that he was staring at one of the sketches of the black horses that seemed to haunt me. "You've seen Nightmares." He whispered, looking at me with wide eyes.

"What the hell are Nightmares?" I said, arching a brow, but then someone banged on my door. "Arabella! Are you in bed yet?" James barked through the door, his steely voice sending chills down my back. In a millisecond, I crawled under my bedclothes, practically shivering. "Yessir, and I was gonna sleep right now." I said, closing my eyes in case he opened the door.
