He ran through the thick coverage of dense branches and leaves, splotches of mud tainting his ivory colored boots. His heart pounding and breath rigid as he desperately tried to catch up to the person running somewhere in front of him.

Figure almost completely covered by vegetation, that coward was not going to escape his clutches that easily this time. Does he really think he can keep running away from his problems like that? Yeah no, and he's gonna talk some sense into him.

Even as the sounds of heartbroken sobs long faded away in the distance, they still echoed in his ears loud and clear. Amplifying his rage at the person sprinting in front of him.

How the hell could he say that to him after everything? All their progress burned away at the mercy of one single sentence of unnecessarily harsh words that weren't even true.

How could he unvalue his efforts? How could he unvalue his own feelings like that? For what reason does he have to shatter his fragile heart out of the blue!?

A heart that he so desperately wished belonged to him.

"Your highness! Stop running!" He called out to him. He looked back but made no point to slow down. Which made the one chasing him even more furious.

"AMERICA! QUIT BEING A WEAKLING AND STOP RUNNING!" That made the prince slow down a bit, and his hunter took the chance. He tackled them both to the ground, pinning America down while wrapping his claws around his throat.

"China, not this again." He said with a choked voice.

"Didn't you say you just needed time to figure yourself out? Why couldn't you just tell him that? I told you, he would understand! I mean, he just confessed his undying love for you. How much more evidence do you want!?" America could see the raging inferno burning in China's golden eyes. He's even angrier than last time this happened. And it looks like he's not backing down any time soon.

"It's not about that anymore, Russia would be better off with someone else. It's better to remove myself from the picture entirely." He grabbed at China's hand, trying to pry him off, but he just squeezed harder.

"If it's about he's going to leave you because you did blah blah blah, then I'm not gonna hear it." China rolled his eyes.

"No, I don't understand why you would come chasing after me. You of all people should be happy, China." America said, struggling to breathe.

"Well, why is that?" China snarled.

"You love him, don't you?"
