Kashyapa Ashrama

Shakra paced, his palms round the scroll as he moved around inside the Ashrama, awaiting the arrival of his father, thick, confusing emotions rushing into his veins, bewilderment settling into his heart as countless questions thundered into his mind.

What could be such a dire situation that KashyapaPatni Danu's grandchild had to send a secret letter to Kashyapa, at that time of the night?

Shakra shook his head, trying to make a futile attempt to stabilise his mind, and uttered to his self, 'Do not overthink, Shakra! It might as well be a casual letter.'

He knew he desperately tried to shift his attention away from the letter, but it almost seemed that he could not.

The letter also did not seem any normal. The frightened expression, and the quivering facial features of the Danava messenger were alarming, and he sensed a possibility; that the former was shook to find the son of Aditi in a place where she expected his father to be at.
But something also made him feel that it was not just him being present there, but also that something sinister was occurring at the Asura Loka, something that induced such fear in the messenger, and a alarming situation in Paatala for which the Danava Princess had to take up the work to address a letter to her grandfather.

Shakra was standing lone in the deluge of his thoughts, and he wondered if the Danava Princess addressed such a letter to her grandfather only to inform him of the situations in Danava Loka that she needed help with, or she herself was a part of such menacing activities, and that made him scrutinise the letter once more, trying to figure out if the exteriors of a letter gave out any such vibrations to him.

He gathered himself and gazed at the letter, to find a small symbol of a lotus, and a mark of Thunder arising from it, and it made him have second thoughts regarding the points he made in his mind.

The serenity and the purity that the hue of the letter that he held; and the sincerity that he experienced from the symbols that were etched on the parchment did not give him any signs of vagueness. All it spoke was of calmness and dedication, something that he rarely saw in the people of the Danava or Daitya clan, and he wondered, if it was the Princess of Danavas that wrote the letter, or the Granddaughter of Kashyapa.

"Vasudatta?" A rigid yet tender voice shook Shakra out of his thoughts and he immediately looked up in dedication when the voice reached his ears, and he folded his palms together in reverence as his parents arrived inside the chamber.

Their softened eyes felt like indirect blessings to him, and then their attention went to the scroll in his hands, making them share glances when they identified the symbol on the scroll.

"Putra, what is this scroll?" Kashyapa questioned, looking up at his wife after posing his question, only to notice the DevaMata's eyes widened in wonder and a unnoticeable glitter in her eyes.

"Pita, this.." Shakra wondered as he tried to breach the wall of emotion that he noticed in his parents' eyes, puzzled on how he was to explain the situation to them, for his interaction previously was immensely unexpected, and had the least probability to ever occur.

"Mata, Pita, a Danavi messenger had arrived here previously, from the rear entrance of the Ashrama, which I thought none were aware of. She mentioned that their Princess had addressed this letter to you, and her expressions betrayed the fear she was trying to mark. It seemed very vague if it were only for the reason that she did not expect an Aditya to receive her and not Pita, but it did not seem only like that."

"Why do you feel such? What does your instinct say, Putra?" Kashyapa questioned, and his expression was jot of amusement but pride, for his son, who was the to-be Indra not only cared of the emotions of his own kin, but also that of the Asuras if they were genuine.

"I have not read what exactly this letter holds, Pita. And it is only my feeling that something is not precisely perfect with the situations around your granddaughter, and the only reason for this assumption of mine is because of the timing that this letter arrived here!"

As Shakra finished his explanation, Kashyapa took the scroll from his son's palms, and moved away to read and understand, while Aditi moved towards her son, a faint smile dancing across her lips as she noticed the unconcealed curiosity of her son, regarding the Danava Princess.

Placing her palm on her son's shoulder, she posed her question in the particular manner she intended to, "Do you know who she is, Shakra? The one who addressed us the letter?"

DevaMata's question sounded like a ephemeral blend of questioning along with the touch of the eagerness to explain, and that made Shakra nod his head in a now, his eyes widening as his mother's eyes adorned a few pearls of tears.

"She is our Poutri, Shakra..She is born in the clan of Puloma. Paulomi is the one who shines as the peerless thunder among the unfavourable darkness of AsuraLoka, the freshly bloomed lotus of faith and righteousness amid the murk of adharma that resides in her land."

Aditi's words made Shakra to experience a blow, and clouds of questions surrounded his thoughts, "Mata so she..".

"That is all I can say, Putra. I know what questions you might have, but for knowing those answers, you must understand your own feelings foremost. Everything I have told you right now, makes it clear that Pulomaja might be someone who's presence and thoughts will bring about a change in you, for that is what I have sensed upon analysing your reactions to the mere scroll that fell into your hands."

Aditi paused as she caressed her son's face with her soft, wrinkly palms as she continued, "You are a Deva, son, and she is a Danavi. Every action and decision of yours will have an impact on the functioning of the universe, your future position and the essence of yourself that might or might not be amendable. To reach your Aindri, you must understand aindra first, Shakra! You must understand your feelings first, and then you will automatically reach Her. Finding her will lead you to yourself, for Aindri will be the one who will be your Shakti, your Dharma and your Kriya!"

Aditya could feels his lips parch at the mention of Aindri; and all that he could visualise was the same pair of lotus eyes; and something told him that it was Pulomaja might be his Aindri.

But how was Pulomaja related to him? Was the woman in his vision the same as Puloma's daughter? Was she, his Shakti? His Aindri?
