It was an age ago but the weight of those memories lingered like shackles on the mind, impossible to escape from. The memories were like chains forged from the blackest iron, binding their minds in eternal torment. Each moment was a new link in the chain, each thought a fresh drop of blood spilled on the cold unforgiving ground.
Their worlds were an endless void, a blank canvas, painted with shadows and whispers. There was that feeling they knew, lurking in the darkness and lingering in the air. That dark endless feeling that had the hairs at the back of their necks standing on guard—the feeling of being watched by something unseen. It was as if the darkness itself was alive, pulsing with a malevolent energy.
A single question echoes in the void, a cry that pierces the heart; what is truth when chaos reigns?
