I dug through my drawer looking for the perfect outfit for tomorrow night's party, but unfortunately, I couldn't find anything, Everything was old or I had grown out of it. And I would be damn if I showed up to the party looking like a poor thing, my family wasn't privileged but we had all that we needed to survive my mother sure of that, ever since I could remember it's always been my mother, my siblings and I. My father left after I was born and we haven't heard from him since, he left because he claimed he couldn't take care of three kids and a wife, what a shit of an excuse.
My brother Ikenna, he his the eldest of us and he works as an accountant. Even though he wasn't that old he was less of a brother and more of a father to me. He has been there for me through thick and thin and was always there to give me the necessary push and guidance that I needed. My sister on the other hand was my ride-and-die, she was my backbone and at this point in our lives, we are basically inseparable. Even though she was a doctor and she was very busy she always made time for me and our mother we always had our little girl nights and our road trips.
