To restart life

Chapter 2 - Waking Up

It has been 3 days since the car crash and Dean hasn't woken up yet. Sam had stayed with Dean the whole time of him being in the hospital. The doctors had explained to Sam about deans injury's about how he had snapped the bone in his arm in half and how that the injury on deans head had been very serious and worse than normal due to the excessive speeds of the other car. Sam was now waiting patiently and was nervously shaking his leg up and down hoping for Dean to wake up soon.

Sam checked the time on his phone and realised it was now lunch time and he was starting to get hungry. So he headed to the canter and grabbed himself a chicken, bacon and salad wrap with some cheese and onion crisps and a bottle of water and headed back to the hospitals bed. Sam eventually finished eating his food and had threw away the rubbish. He then sat next to Dean again grabbed his hand and continued to wait for his older brother to wake up.

About an hour later Sam was starting to drift off when he noticed that dean's fingers had moved. Sam than went out of the room to call the doctor to let them know that Dean was waking up and then returned to the room and sat back down next to Dean. He noticed that deans eyes had started to flutter open. Dean had opened  his eyes and the bright lights had quickly blinded him causing him to close his eyes again. His mouth was really dry he needed some water and his arm was killing him. As soon as he woke up he let out a whimper which caught his attention because Dean never cries/whimpers. So he asked him if was alright but he started sobbing out loud in which caused sam to panic slightly feeling a bit helpless on how to help Dean. He rushed outside and called the doctors again to which they rushed in to help Dean. While the commotion was going on one of the doctors had pulled sam aside to explain why Dean was acting the way he was. The doctors had told sam that the collision had caused significant damages to deans head which had caused Dean to have some brain damage that affected his age mentally. This meant that it has caused dean to involuntarily regressed to the age of 1 to 4 .

After hearing the news same had to go Stand out side to get some air. He had begun to overthink about how life would look like from now. He was worrying about how he would look after and take care of his now younger brother. But he eventually managed to cam down and would figure it out along the way. So he made his way back to the room but before he entered he asked the nurse when he could take Dean home so he was more comfortable and they said they got to do some tests but if they go good he can go back tomorrow.

Sam returned to the room and Dean had slowly started crying and was now sniffing. When he saw Sam walk in he reached out for him making sams heart melt. But sam knew he couldn't pick him up yet as he had to have some tests done on him. After a couple of minutes the nurse came in with  a tray with all the stuff needed to do the test. Then all hell broke loose dean was alright for a bit while the nurse was explaining what she had to do until she mentioned needles to that's when the water works started . Sam tried to calm him down which worked for a bit until the nurse tried sticking the needle into his arm that's when he was now thrashing around trying to push the nurse away which ended in Sam scolding him a bit and letting him squeeze his hand while he was being jabbed the needle.

Eventually , dean had stopped crying 10 minutes having the tests. He was now apologising to sam for being naughty but Sam had told him it was fine and ended up with Dean being comforted by Sam. About half an hour later Dean was now starting to drift off and Sam decided to stay with him until he properly fell asleep which he did ten minutes later so Sam had said goodbye to Dean even though he was asleep and left.
