When the young man wakes up, he looks around the cave and realizes that the hellhound is sleeping, curled up around him to keep him warm. As he sits up, he hears the bleating of the goat that he had found previously. His eyes widen in surprise when he sees the horse standing in the cave with the goat still on the cart.
"How did you get here?" The young man mutters as he observes the horse and goat.
"I brought them during the night." The hellhound's response startles the young man. "Your baby needs milk."
"Thank you." The young man sighs in relief and looks at his nephew, safely cradled in his embrace. "Once I feed my nephew, I will clean your wounds."
The hellhound silently watches as the young human milks the goat and then feeds the hungry newborn. When the hellhound hears the human's stomach growl, he weakly stands up and looks out at the snowy day.
"Do not go hunting. The weather is dangerous, and you are still mortally wounded. Rest. I do not need to eat. I ate yesterday." The young man tells the hellhound to stop him from leaving the cave during the snowstorm.
The hellhound obeys and lies back down. His crimson eyes watch as the young human changes the makeshift diaper of the newborn. When he sees the tattoo of the red flame on the baby's back, he knows that he has found the baby that his owners have been searching for. I will not let those monsters take you and do to you what they did to me.
"Do you have a name?" The young man asks after changing the makeshift diaper.
"I do not. What is your name?" The hellhound responds and scrunches his nose in distaste as the smell of the soiled diaper fills the cave.
"Seokjin." The young man responds and walks over to the hellhound.
"You have a nice name." The hellhound hums and watches as the human places the baby next to him.
As Seokjin cleans the hellhound's injuries, he notices a brand on the hellhound's shoulder. When he places his hand on the brand, the hellhound flinches.
"It is a curse," Seokjin mutters as he examines the brand.
"It is. I have had it for as long as I can remember." The hellhound responds and relaxes under Seokjin's gentle touch.
"What does the curse do?" Seokjin asks as he gently brushes his fingers over the curse.
"I do not know." The hellhound responds and watches as Seokjin's eyes fill with sadness.
"Is there a way to get rid of it?" Seokjin mutters and gently tangles his fingers in the hellhound's soft fur.
"I do not know. I have clawed at it and have bitten it to try and get rid of it, but none of that worked." The hellhound explains with a sigh. "My owner is very powerful and cruel, so she will never release me."
"Is she the one that I saw in your memories?" Seokjin asks as he remembers the hellhound's painful memories.
"She most likely is." The hellhound responds and wonders why the human is looking at him with pain and sorrow in his eyes.
The rest of the day is spent in silence as Seokjin contemplates a name for the hellhound. Every now and then, a sigh leaves his soft lips as the hellhound's painful memories flash through his mind.
"You deserve a name," Seokjin mutters as the sun begins to set.
"No. Monsters do not deserve names." The hellhound calmly hums and looks over at the human, who has tears streaming down his face.
