Sweetpea and Fangs walked through the trailer door laughing and shoving each other. Ana stood up from her seat and walked up to them both. She raised her hand and hit them both on the back of the head ignoring their protests.

"Veronica texted me." She explained, getting guilty looks in response. "I wasn't-" She held a hand up to stop them from talking. "Fangs, Katie is waiting for you at your trailer, I'll see you tomorrow." He nodded, leaving a kiss on her cheek before rushing out of the trailer.

"Sit down." She pointed at the kitchen table.

Sweetpea complied while she went to get the first aid kit from under the bathroom sink. Once she collected it, she shrugged off her serpent jacket, leaving her in a white tank and her jeans. She put everything on the table in front of the boy before pulling a chair out and sitting in front of him.

"Ana-" He began to talk as she got out everything she needed. The girl purposefully shut it loudly, signalling for him to shut up.

Ana sat down in front of him, taking his face in her hand to examine the damage. She winced at the black eye and split lip, but he'd live. His knuckles got the worst of it. They were all swollen and blue, having splits in them from the pressure of punching.

"You're stupid." She tutted. "And reckless." She began to clean his lip. Sweetpea winced, but he kept a straight face. "He had a gun, Stas. A gun! And he pointed it at us. At you." He rambled. "I wasn't going to let him get away with that."

Ana let out a sigh, grabbing an alcohol wipe from the table. "Then you should've reported him. Not show up to his doorstep and start a war." She mumbled, beginning to rub his knuckles gently. "I'm not-" Sweetpea took a heavy breath. "I was protecting you." He admitted, lowering his face.

"Hey." She said, making him look up. "I can protect myself." She softly said, not realising she was still holding his hands. "I know, but you don't have to, not while I'm around." She smiled, her cheeks heating up.

"I know, and I appreciate it, but if I find out you did something like this again without me knowing, you'll be on bathroom duty at the wyrm until you're fifty."

Sweetpea chuckled. "Deal."

The two stared at each other in silence for a moment, soaking in each other's presence. Did Sweetpea's eyes always look like honey? Ana wondered.

Ana then got a weird feeling in her chest, one that made her cheeks warm again. She didn't know what the feeling was, but she didn't know if it was good or bad.

Something fluttered in her stomach, making it flip. Was she getting sick? Shrugging off the feeling, she continued to clean Sweetpea's wounds in silence, the only sound heard could be their breathing.

Once she had wrapped his left hand, as it was much worse than the right, she sat up with a sigh. "All done." She teased. "Thanks, Doc." He winked, getting a laugh out of the blonde girl.

Ana's phone ringing in the living room alerted them both, making them share a look from across the room. She had a special ringtone that was for all of the serpents and her friends. So who was calling her?

She picked up the phone, showing Sweetpea the screen that read "Unknown."

He immediately reached for the phone, but Ana stood back and answered the call.
