The mastermind behind Mae's death is the Black society's elusive leader, Yu. Paa did have a meeting with him that day and the rumours say that it didn't go well.

Yu was a devoted family man. He doesn't ever smoke and drink. He was the first mafia to start legitimate business as a cover. He was rarely seen outside his house, without atleast 20 bodyguards in attendance. It was once said that he took his private jet along with his private chef for a two-day meeting with the Dubai Prince.

And now his head was hanging in Kim's hand.

Correction, his head was hanging in the hands of a 15 year of Kim.

Dad was elated, to say in the least.

We followed "an eye for an eye" rule religiously and Mae's death was avenged in cold blood.

The news of Yu's death spread like a wildfire in the underworld and now we were ranked 1 in power by people who previously had briefs with Yu. We had many ally's pledging their loyalty to us. Together we dealt with the aftermath of  Yu's death.

Revenge is over.

Daddy was proud of his youngest son.

The said 'youngest son' wanted an out from the family.

To pursue a career in music.

Daddy was surprised. Maybe shocked is a better description.

They locked themselves in Daddy's study for a private conversation. The feeling of being left out haunted me again.

A few agonising hours later, Kim emerged out of Paa's office with the same blank expression I have seen a hundred times.

Apparently Daddy only allowed his beloved son to stay away from the house but in a penthouse owned by us, 6 blocks away. And he wasn't excused to miss out our monthly family dinners. Maybe he agreed. Maybe he didn't.

I didn't care.

The only thought in my head was that I'm finally free from Kim. I didn't have to see his face anymore, except for a handful times in an year. He took Mae from me and was about to take Paa from me too.

Atleast that didn't happen yet.

For that I was thankful to him.

But fate had other plans for us.

As I said, Yu's death was a turning point on our life. (Although I never understood how Kim killed him, with literally zero resources). I decided that I didn't care at this point.

Our business became busier. Even with me helping Paa ,there was so much more to be done. Paperwork replaced my video games, coffee replaced my milk. I understood that I have dress a certain way and act in a certain way. My guitar sat untouched in my closet.

Life was okay, I think.

Paa dealt with the more bloody things (how could he do that without leaving our house, I didn't understand and honestly I was happy without dealing that). Tawan was great, I think I finally found someone who loves me the same way I love them. I started having a better relationship with Khun Noo.

Kim was totally out of my mind.

But still...

I could see glimpses of his presence at random times of the day. Whenever I went to Khun Noo's room, he would be vibing to Kim's songs. I used to hear the newer bodyguards fanboying over him, some were eager to join us only for the sake of meeting/ working under him. The older bodyguards paled at the mention of him. ( I found out why, much later.)

Even paa was biased with him.

When I messed up at a meeting, Paa never scolded me. It was rather a downturned lip while sipping his tea. And a casual mention that Kim would do better in such a situation.

Isn't Kim out of the family business? Why everyone still honours him as if he didn't leave our compound?

As I said, I found out the reason in a very hard way.
