To be honest, it was already a bad day for me when it happened. A meeting with the yakuza had gone bad. It was our monthly family brunch that day, for fuck's sake and I had to pretend that everything was alright, not to mention that I was nearly killed that morning, for our little pretend 'family'.
Paa was seated, as usual, at the head of our family table. Me and Khun Noo were seated at the either side of him, his eldest and his heir.
But his youngest and favourite was missing.
Paa was, in general, one of the most punctual and time-loving person of all the time. I remember all the lesson about the importance of time and the endless snide remarks from him, if I was ever late. Even by a few minutes.
But now?
I sneaked a glance at Paa, who was busy sipping his coffee. The food was not yet served, it was disrespectful if we did start eating before Kim arrived, after all. Khun Noo was examing his nails, his expression nonchalant.
What the hell is actually wrong with these people? I'm late, due to WORK and people lecture me and Kim is late for whatever reason and we have to just wait for him?
I know I was thinking like a toddler throwing a tantrum? Kim has that effect on me. He always brings out the worst in me. He is-
Unhurried footsteps echoed the hall and the bodyguards stiffened.
Kim entered the dining hall wearing-
I barely stifled his gasp as he watched Kim saunter into the hall. He looked over his Paa and Hia
hoping to say anything - anything about the outfit. They were the Theerapanyakun's, the biggest mafia and had a reputation to uphold and honestly-Paa simply smiled and started eating while Khun Noo gave a once over, his face scrunching in disapproval. Thank god, Kinn thought, atleast one sane person in the family.
"Why the fuck are you wearing this TODAY,Kimmy? I SPECIFICALLY told you to wear that the LAST DAY of your fucking concert! NOT TODAY, you twat. You should have worn that red blazer." Khun Noo said.
"I'm sorry. But that was stained. I brought it here for dry cleaning." Kim said, not looking a bit sorry. He piled up his plate with steak and a salad dressing and began his meal nonchalantly.
The fuck, I thought to myself. My appetite died instantly and I thought I'll go back to my room and prepare for the meeting I have in a few hours.
"Paa, excuse me." I said, standing up. Kim didn't even glance at me. Fine, I don't care about that asshole.
As I was about to step out of the dining hall-
"Kinn!" Paa said. Maybe he will insist to complete my food. Maybe-
"Kim will accompany you today."
I swallowed my anger and gave him a curt nod. I could hear Kim sign. That bastard of a brother.
"Paa, I have a concert today." He said.
"I'll reschedule that meeting, Kim. Just do your Paa a favour."
Paa is rescheduling a meeting to accommodate Kim's concert?! What is actually happening?
I almost stumbled down on my way to my room.
