Nathan, Haley and Millie head to the hospital to see how Jamie is doing.  The doctor informs them that Jamie is fine but his spinal cord was damaged in the car accident and is paralized.

A concerned Nathan and Haley give each other horrified looks as Millie crumbles to the floor, but is caught by Nathan when he grabs and prevents her from falling.

The doctor informs the three of them that they may go see Jamie, but one at a time, so as not to stress Jamie.

As Millie gathers up enough strength to go see her husband, Nathan and Haley cling to each other in comfort.

"Hey, babe!" Millie says, as she comes into Jamie's hospital room, worried, but trying to hide her worry.

"Millie, I'm so sorry!" Jamie apologizes.

"Hun, there's nothing to be sorry about." Millie assures him.

"My career is over!" Jamie says, depressed.

"Baby, don't worry." Millie tries to cheer him up.  "We'll get by somehow."

Millie tries to give Jamie and hug and kiss, but Jamie pulls away.

"Please, Millie, just leave me alone." Jamie angrily yells at her.

Feeling rejected, Millie leaves and heads to the waiting room where Nathan and Haley are.

"What's wrong, Millie?" Haley asks.

"Jamie just rejected me." Millie says, crying, as Haley rushes out to hug her daughter-in-law, while Nathan heads into Jamie's hospital room to have a talk with his son.

"Jamie, why did you just treat Millie so harshly?" Nathan scolds his son.

"Dad, please, not you too!" Jamie lashes out.

"We're just here out of concern." Nathan says, trying to get through to his son.

"What's the point, dad?!" Jamie yells at him.  "My life is over!"

"Jamie!" Nathan tries to speak to his son, but is interrupted instead.

"Dad, please, just leave and let me be!" Jamie says, bitterly.

Nathan decides it's best to just leave Jamie alone for now.  But vows to somehow get through to him and heads back to Haley and Millie, but Haley has persuaded Millie to go get something to eat in the hospital cafeteria.

"Haley, I don't know what has gotten into our son?!" Nathan says to his wife.  "He is being so irrational."

"What did Jamie do?" Haley says, worried.

"He lashed out at me." Nathan explained.  "When I tried to show support, he told me to get out."

"So you just left him alone?!" Hayley asked confused.

"What could I do?"

"Well, we can't leave him alone!  Not when he needs us?" Haley says in disbelief.

"Haley, I tried to get through to him but Jamie refused to listen."

"He's hurt and angry, Nathan!" Haley yelled at him.  "But we don't leave our children when they need us!"

Haley turns and heads for Jamie's hospital room.

"Where are you going?!" Nathan yells after her.

"I'm going to see our son!"

Nathan can't believe that Haley isn't in support of his decision to let Jamie be for now.

Meanwhile, Millie is just sitting down to a table in the hospital cafeteria with her plate of salad greens and tomatoes with ranch dressing and a coffee, when she is greeted by gentleman dressed in a black pin-striped suit.

"Millie?" the man said to her.  "Millie McFadden?"

"Yes,?" Millie replied back.  "Who are you?"

"I'm Jim Stiels."

"I'm sorry, am I supposed to know you?"

"I'm a journalist for Home Interior Design Magazine."the gentleman introduces himself.

"What do you want with me?"

"I remember your design for our October issue last year."

"Yes, I was happy accepted my work for the magazine." Millie says gratefully.

"Well, the magazine is prepared to give you a contract for submission of your designs in our magazine." Jim Stiels informs. Her.

"I am so happy for your offer, but I afraid I must consult with my husband first."

"Yes, I see." Jim tells her.  "Well, talk it over with your husband and get back to us."

"Yes, Mr. Stiels.  I will do that."

Jim Stiels leave Millie in the hospital cafeteria thinking about the offer.  Millie wonders what Jamie will think about the offer as she finishes her salad and coffee before going back to Jamie's room.
