Jamie wanted nothing to do with Millie or his parents. He was worthless now. A cripple. What good was he now? He just wanted to it all end. But his thoughts were interrupted when Nathan knocked on his hospital room door.

"Jamie?" Nathan said. "I'm not bothering you, am I?"

"No, dad," Jamie said, bitterly.

"I know how you're feeling, son."

"Yeah, right!" Jamie said angrily as he rolled over toward the wall to ignore his father.

"Son, are you forgetting my accident when you were young?" Nathan reminded him.

Jamie didn't want to remember that moment in his life when his parents nearly separated. And his father recovered and went to play in the NBA with the Carolina Panthers.

"I'm sorry, dad." Jamie apologized.

"It's okay, son." Nathan told him. "You're angry just like I was."

"I need to speak to Millie and apologize for my behavior. I haven't been fair to her. She was just trying to be a good wife and I treated her like dirt."

"I'm sure she will forgive you, son. She loves you." Nathan encouraged.

"Thanks dad." Jamie said as Nathan hugged him.

"Well, I'll let you go so you can talk to Millie." Nathan said before leaving Jamie's room.

After Nathan left, Jamie pressed the button on his cell to dial Millie and talk to her, but Millie didn't answer.

In the doctor office, Millie waited for her appointment in the waiting room to see the doctor. She had been nauseous lately and wanted to get checked out.

"Millie Huxtable?" the nurse announced, coming out of the office.

"Yes. That's me." Millie said as she grabbed her purse and followed the nurse to the examining room where the nurse took her weight and vitals, then handed her a gown to change into before leaving the examination room to let Millie change.

After about 30 minutes the doctor came in to examine Millie along with the nurse practitioner. After the examination, the doctor left Millie alone to change back into her clothes before coming back in to tell her the results of her examination.

"Ms. Huxtable, I have the results of your examination." the doctor said.

"It's nothing serious, is it doctor?" Millie said, worried.

"No, nothing serious at all. You're pregnant." The doctor announced.

"Pregnant? But that can't be? I've been on birth control?" Millie said, frantic that Jamie would be furious because they wanted to wait to have a family.

"Well, did you miss a dose?" the doctor asked her.

Then Millie remembered the one day she suspected missing a pill when Jamie and her celebrated the night Jamie proposed.

"Well, don't be surprised." The doctor said. "It's easy to forget a dose."

"I just hope Jamie will understand." Millie said worried.

As Millie left the doctor's office, she wondered what Jamie would say about her pregnancy with Jamie's accident and all he's going through.
