As I make my way to the top floor, I see two ladies at the front desk. One of them smiles, while the other just stares blankly. "Good morning, my name is Jordan Simon," I say. "Oh yes, Mr. James told us about you. You're the new lawyer, right?" the older woman asks. "Yes, I am," I reply.

"Great, I will show you your office and give you a tour of the facility.

Are you sure, Agnes?" the younger one says.

"I'm sure he's not lying, Eliza," Agnes tells her.

"Why would I lie about who I am?" I say.

"Exactly. Now, right this way, sir. Just ignore her," Agnes says. "Don't mind if I do," and I follow Agnes on the tour.

Agnes leads Jordan down a long hallway lined with doors to various offices. She points out the break room, conference rooms, and bathrooms along the way. As they walk, she tells him about the company's history and mission.

Finally, they arrive at Jordan's office. "Here we are, sir. This is your office. As I mentioned before, we're still waiting on some furniture, but everything you need to get started is on your desk," Agnes says.

"Thank you, Agnes. I appreciate it," Jordan replies, looking around the room.

"I'm glad to help. Just so you know, the bosses are tied up in meetings for most of the day, but they should be able to meet with you later this afternoon. In the meantime, if you have any questions or need any help getting started, just let me know. Oh, and if you're confused about anything on your desk, don't worry about it. They'll go over everything with you in the meeting," Agnes explains.

"Okay, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks again, Agnes," Jordan says.

"No problem at all, sir. Welcome to the team," Agnes replies with a smile before leaving Jordan to settle into his new office.

I look at my office and I honestly wasn't expecting it to be this big. I was expecting a tiny cubicle and I would have loved it. So imagine my surprise when I saw city views and glass windows all around me. If this is my office, I can only imagine how big my boss's office must be.

I start putting things away and finally make it to my desk. The work left for me is pretty broad and easy, so I decide to knock it out of the way since I have a while before I finally meet the boss. But you know it's true - no matter how small the stack is, it can take hours for lawyers to read and rewrite.

I decide to go eat lunch at 12:00. When I tell you I love this place, they offer good food and it's free for workers. Like, what kind of money do these men have? Apparently, on Fridays, we get to have our takeout of choice delivered to our desk, as long as we put in our order on Thursday.

What sucks is having no one to talk to. People here are already in their cliques, and I roll my eyes and head back to my office to eat and then back to work. Once I'm finally done, I look at the clock and it's 2:00 already. I'm in shock.

Then my phone rings, hearing Agnes's voice come through telling me the bosses are ready to see me. I fix my suit, grab my laptop, and make my way to the top floor.

Jordan stepped out of the elevator and saw Agnes waiting for him. She smiled and said, "Hi Jordan, how are you feeling?"

"I'm good, a little nervous," Jordan replied.

"Don't worry, the bosses are really nice. They just wanted to meet you in person and welcome you to the team," Agnes reassured him.

Jordan's heart raced with anticipation as he followed Agnes to the bosses' office. He couldn't help but wonder what his new bosses would look like and whether they would be standard asshole, difficult bosses or cool and easygoing like the person who had interviewed him. Sensing his nerves, Agnes tried to reassure him. "Make yourself comfortable, Jordan. They will be here shortly," she said with a kind smile.
