Chapter 9

I opened my eyes frantically and a wave of anxiety hovered over my body. I felt Ninos hand gripping my waist tightly. As if he never wanted me to leave. I nervously felt around for my phone.

Nia must have called me 1000 times. I opened our messages and began to read.

Nia was explaining to me that Mikey had been blowing her up looking for me.

I quickly shot up and immediately started looking for all my things. Nino sat up and looked at me with a questionable face. "You aigh Ry?"

"Yeah I'm fine. I just wasn't expecting to fall asleep I gotta get home" I said pacing back and forth looking for my bra.

Nino got up and started helping me gather up my things. "I'll bring you home" He added.

"No it's fine. I'll get an uber thank you tho." I said now finally dressed.

Nino looked at me again with a face I haven't recognized yet. "I did something wrong Ry?"

I ignored him as I was focused on my phone and calling an uber to get home.

Nino grabbed my arm and looked up at me with a concerned face. "I like you ryan, you cool as hell I don't want what happened lastnight affect our friendship mamas"

I sighed at his sweet response and looked at him uncontrollably tearing up. "I'm sorry it's not you it's me.. I've never done something like this before and I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to look Mikey in the eyes."

Me and Nino sat quiet for a minute. The silence that filled the air was loud. My back was turned away from Nino at this point but I could feel him put his hands in his head with frustration.

"Get dressed I'll bring you home" Nino said getting up and walking out his room.

I wiped the tears from my face before getting up to put my shorts on. My phone was going off and It was my dad.

"Hello" I answered.

"Ryan.. um you need to get here quickly please!" My dad said sternly.

"What's going on?"

"Please just get here as soon as you can"

My dad had hung up and of course anxiety hovered over me. Nino walked back into the room with his toothbrush sticking out his mouth and and he was counting some money.

"We should probably hurry and get me home, my dad called me and he sounded weird." I said slipping my shoes on and walking past Nino to walk out of his room.

Nino pulled his shirt over his head and followed me out the room. He went into the bathroom to spit the tooth paste out and I continued down the stairs.

We got outside and the sun was beaming turning my anxiety into a headache. I got in the passenger and put my head against the window and closed my eyes. Nino scoffed as he got in the car and looked at me.

Confused I turned to him "what was that for?"

"I don't want you mad at me for some shit you started." Nino said now pulling out from in front of his house.

I rolled my eyes not expecting him to had given me a subtle attitude. Giving him one back I sucked my teeth and said "Nobody's mad at you, I'm disappointed in myself that's all"

Nino laughed and continued driving.

I rolled my eyes in annoyance. "I know it may be hard to believe but not all girls just open there legs for every nigga, I've never been with anybody besides Mikey. So sorry If I feel like shit about what we did."

"I hear you loud and clear shawty you regret getting with ya boy, it's cool I'll make sure it'll never happen again" Nino said sarcastically.

"I'm not saying it like that Nino what the fuck, your being childish right now."

Nino sat quiet. I immediately felt bad about giving him and attitude when he did nothing wrong. I felt him gradually start to flirt with me and I knew we had sexual tension building up and instead of setting boundaries I literally climbed on top of dude.

"Sorry, again it's not you it's me. I enjoyed every second of what happened between us trust me. But i'm just unfamiliar with my actions so excuse me if I come off wrong."

Nino grabbed my hand. "Ry you a smart girl, you be out the way and everybody knows that. I'm not one to judge you! Dont be to hard on yourself & my fault for coming off as selfish towards how you feeling."

Just before I could respond police sirens went off and of course they were behind us. Nino seemed like he was about to go on a high speed but looked at me and slowed back down.

"Fuck I got all this shit on me!" Nino said frantically.

"We've done nothing wrong it's fine he won't search you!" I said not knowing anything about well anything.

"These cops be on my dick bad he definitely gonna search me." Nino looked at me with a worried face.

My lips started moving before my brain again before I knew it I was in the glove compartment putting Nino's work and gun in my bag. Nino looked at me with confusion as he finally made the stop.

"Goodmorning Mr. Nino" The officer said trolling.

"Ian in the mood to play with ya niggas today, I wasn't even speeding what you want?" Nino said annoyed.

The cop looked over at me and grinned.

"Ryan? Ryan O'bella? What are you doing with a guy like him?"

I finally noticed who the officer had been a former friend of my mom and dad's.

"Hi Mr.Blake, Nino was dropping me off home my phone died and he seen me walking."

The officer looked back towards Nino and scoffed.

"Ryan is a good girl now Nino, don't get her mixed up in your troubles" The officer said pulling out a ticket.

"She good." Nino said sternly.

"You don't have anything in this vehicle right?" The officer said unamused with Ninos tone.

"Ain't shit in here but you got a reason to want to search my shit?"

"Step out the car Nino" the officer said backing up from the door giving Nino enough space to open it.

Nino scoffed and looked at me before exiting the car.
The officer started patting him down, he cuffed Nino and had him sit on the curb while he begin to search the car all while I'm still sitting in the passenger seat.
"Is everything okay Mr. Blake?" I asked nervously.

The officer still looking around the car looked at me with a smug look. "Everything is fine Ryan, you just make sure after you get home you stay away from him, I'm telling you he's no good."

The officer un cuffed Nino and led him back to the drivers seat. "You're lucky you got Ryan with you or this could have went a different way" The cop said handing Nino the ticket. Nino snatched the ticket out his hand and drove off.

When we arrived in the front of my house I went into my bag and started to give Nino back his stuff when he pushed it back down into my bag.

"He gon be on my dick all day hold that down for me imma be back to get it later" Nino said licking his lips.

I thought about it for a minute but the remembered the phone call I'd had with my dad and hurried off into my house.

I watched Nino ride away before opening my front door. "Dad?" I yelled.

My dad came out of the bathroom and looked at me with the face of concern her gestured for me to look toward the couch in the living room. I turned to look in that direction and to my surprise my mother had been sitting there.
