Wilbur POV~~~~~~~~~~ Fluff

I walked alone on the sidewalk, returning from my long day at school. Well, I wasn't quite alone. "Little Mister Sunshine" was walking beside me. His optimism radiated off of him, making me resent him increasingly more.

I trudged along, my creased, overworn sneakers scraping along the ground. They were already ruined, why not ruin them more. It's not like my parents would even consider getting me a new pair, no matter how bad they got.

Little Mister Sunshine, also known as Quackity by his friends, skipped along beside me, his black, kinda longish, fluffy hair dancing behind him as he hummed along to the music that he had playing out of one earbud. His beany bobbed beside me, the bright blue cotton annoying the crap out of me.

I rolled my eyes, "Why do people have to be so happy near me?" I mumbled quietly.

"What was that?" Quackity asked, a sickeningly sweet smile spread across his face as he turned to face me, taking the earbud out of his ear.

"Nothing. You didn't care to hear me the first time, why would you care a second?" I asked, a harsh tone lacing my words as I glared at him. Quackity's smile dropped for a second and he stopped skipping, opting to walk beside me instead.

"Jeez. What's got you so down in the dumps?" I rolled my eyes at his question, crossing my arms around myself.

"Oh! 'What's got me so upset?' he asks! Maybe it's the fact that my life isn't all sunshine and rainbows like some people's!" I exclaim in a mocking and annoyed tone, gesturing towards him. I quicken my pace to try to lose him. To my disdain, he keeps pace, actually kinda fast for someone so short.

"Look tall man, just 'cause I'm happy and you're not doesn't mean you have to be so rude to me!" He frowns at me. "And my life isn't all 'sunshine and rainbows'," he mocks back at me, "I deal with the same issues as everyone else, it just depends on your outlook on life!" Quackity's smile returns as he bops his head side to side.

"Oh does it now?" I roll my eyes again at his bubbly nature.

"Yes it does. If you would try to focus at least one positive thing in your life, maybe you'd be at least a little bit less gloomy," he states as if this is as basic as walking.

"So... what's one good thing in your life, tall man?"

This ray of sunshine is going to be the death of me, I think to myself.

I sigh, pinching my nose and debating on whether or not to actually answer his question. "Fine. I'll give in to your stupid little game. One good thing in my life is..." I pause, genuinely having to think about this.

"Well?" He pushes.

"Well... nothing I guess..." I look to the side of the road we are walking next to.

"Really? You can't think of one good thing? Anything at all?"

"No. There's not really anything very good in my life at all," I sigh.

"Well then," he pauses, appearing deep in thought, "To make your depressing as shit life at least a bit better, what if... we go to a cafe together! You and me! We can just hang out and talk and do stupid stuff that people do at cafes! That way you'll have at least one good thing to look forward to!" He exclaims, leaning closer to me.

"I-uh... I don't know..."

"Oh come on! Pretty please?" He asks, focusing his gaze on me. Something in the way he looked at me sparked butterflies in my stomach. I turned away, blushing lightly at the attention.

"Fine. I'll do it," I say, rolling my eyes again.

"YES!" He yells, jumping around. Suddenly he falls into the grass off the sidewalk, tripping over his own feet on the way down.

"Pft-" I quietly laughed, moving my hand to cover my smile. "Hey! Don't laugh at me! That's rude." He pouts, crossing his arms and turning away from me. I offer a hand to him to help him up, which, after a second and a roll of his eyes, he takes, pulling himself up to stand beside me.

He smiles again, looking down at the concrete below his feet. I see a light dusting of pink on his face as he speaks.

"Thank you," he speaks quietly.

"No problem," I smile back.

"So...," He looks back up at me, "tomorrow... after school... at the cafe down the street... just you and me?" I ask. "Yep!" the Little Mister Sunshine replies.

"Okay. Alright. See you then," I say, a small smile lingering on my face. "See you then," He smiles sheepishly at me, walking over to his house.

Wait, did I just agree to go on a date?!
