He was a meticulous man. Everything he did was always had a reason. Granted, some things he had to wait for, but, in the end, it was all worth it.

Now, he didn't consider himself an obsessive man. Not at all. Sure, he demanded her time be dedicated to him and him alone, but he wasn't overbearing about it.
His words were like silver and gold after all. Pleasant to the ears and she would be none the wiser that he was actually manipulating her into giving all her attention to him. Even convincing her to drop everything and travel with him since he was, in fact, a traveling merchant.
She was everything he ever wanted.
And being meticulous in his endeavors to coax her into trusting him was well worth the wait.
