Riley-
Me and James walked home together hand in hand. We both had the biggest smile on our faces, giggling about everything. "Wanna work on that project?" He asks me once we reach our street. I nod and go to his house instead of mine. "Rileyyyyyy!" His sister piper says running down the hallway once she sees me enter. "Hey pipesqueak!" I say back while giving get a hug. I love James's sisters. Their so adorable, and I'm like a big sister to piper. Pipers the oldest girl so all she has is James to look up to. We sit on the couch with piper in my lap, his other sister on the floor playing with dolls, and James across from us. "Can I steal her back now, we gotta go work on our physics homework pipes." James asks. Piper rolls her eyes and gets off of me. "See you later pipesqueak!" I say as James grabs me by the hand and drags me upstairs to his room.Im gonna be honest we didn't get a whole lot done. We spent most of the study session cuddling in bed watching a movie or making out. I loved being so close with him. "James your mom's gonna be home soon we should get to actually doing the project." I tell him getting up out of bed to get our backpacks. I put the back pack on the bed and sit back down while James puts his head on my lap. "You can work on it from down there" I say giggling. He looks up smiles and then sits normally next to me. "Fine but physics is so boring." He says. "It's still important." I respond writing on the assignment.
We study for an hour or two until James's mom comes in. "Hey Riley what a pleasant surprise." She says from the doorframe. I smile at her. "Do you want to stay for dinner? It'll be done soon." She asks. "Yeah sure that'd be great." I respond. She nods before she goes back to the kitchen. "We've done enough work can we go back to watching the movie?" James whines. "Fine." I say after rolling my eyes and smiling. We put the homework back in the backpack and cuddle back on the bed.
Dinner was really fun. I sat in between James and his sister Amelia. Pipers across from us, ruby in a high chair next to his mom, and his mom at the head of the decorated wooden table. I can tell she sees something between me and James. "Hey wanna stay over? We don't have school tomorrow so.." James asks me while we go back upstairs to his room. "Yeah let me call my mom real quick though." I tell him. He sits down on the bed and turns the tv back on while I go on my phone and dial my moms number.
James-
Riley's standing in the corner of me room facing the wall with one hand on her hip and one pressing her phone to her ear. She's talking to her mom. Her mom isn't the best. She really doesn't like me. But she has issues with ri's dad and takes it out on her. "Mom I don't-."Riley gets cut off, takes the phone off her ear and walks over to the bed. Her face bare. "Is she cool with you staying over?" I ask her as she sits down next to me on the bed and puts her casted leg on it."She doesn't care. I'll just stay here for the weekend." She says back looking down. "Riley talk to me. You don't have to pretend everything's perfect. Not with me." I tell her. She lifts her head up with tears in her eyes and puts her head in my chest. I wrap my arms around her, running my hand up and down her back to comfort her. "She blames me for everything. Her fighting with dad, Emily not giving her the time of day. I can't do anything right in her eyes." Riley cries with her face resting on me. "Stay here as long as you want." I tell her before I start kissing her neck and her cheek. A smile grows on her face and she giggles wiping away tears. Then she repositions her body so she's laying with her head on my shoulder. "Thank you." She says looking at me. "For what?" I ask. "You always make me feel better." She says with her eyes closed. I kiss her on the forehead and put my arm around her as we drift asleep watching the movie.
