Tessa Hart had a hard life. Her parents had died in an accident a year before she had graduated high school, which started the beginning of her downfall. In her first year of college, she met a guy by the name of Daniel Jackson. Daniel promised her...

Work was something Tessa was almost excited for, since she was tired of sitting around and doing nothing. Her ex would've never let her get a job, especially one as good as the one Charlie had gotten her. If she had even tried to get a job while.living with her ex, she would've been hurt for it.
"Are you nervous for your first day of work?" Charlie asked, causing Tessa to shake her head.
"No, I'm more excited than anything." She replied, laughing quietly.
"C-could we talk before we head to work?" Charlie asked, and Tessa frowned.
"What's wrong? Did I do something?" She asked, making him shake his head quickly.
"No!" He quickly answered,"It wasn't something bad that happened because of you or anything," He sighed,"it's just--I need to tell you something before we go."
"What's up?" She asked, crossing her arms.
"There'd talk of You-Know-Who coming back, and his followers have been attacking people, specifically muggles. With that being said, I need you to be extra careful going out, and don't ever go out on your own. I can't lose you, and neither can Ricky." He said, making her nod.
"Will anyone be able to get rid of him?" She asked, causing him to sigh.
"I hope so," He replied,"but there's talk of the Order of the Phoenix coming back to handle You-Know-Who. I'm not supposed to tell anyone about it yet, but I know I can trust you with this."
"Please be careful, too." She murmured, and he smiled.
"Always am." He answered, causing her to roll her eyes playfully.
Charlie and Tessa soon headed to work, after bringing Ricky to a babysitter. Tessa had been nervous, even though she trusted Charlie's friends. She had never left Ricky completely alone before, and that made her stomach fill with butterflies.
"He'll be fine, Tess." Charlie commented, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
Charlie brought her to the tent where she'd be working, and she met Ana there. Ana told her the different names of the potions and pastes that were put on shelves near the medical bed. She explained what each one did and how long it took for them to kick in. Tessa had to write the stuff down in a notebook so she wouldn't forget them. She actually planned to study them for a few days, so she wouldn't need her notebook to remember what to use when she needed it.
After she had went through all the potions and pastes, Ana began to explain some of the more "muggle" things they did to help out the wizards that were hurt in the sanctuary. Tessa hoped that Charlie wouldn't be one of the first people she worked on, because then she'd be scared about what went on around the sanctuary.
"Are you ready for lunch, Tessa?" Ana asked, and Tessa nodded.
Tessa and Ana went to the tent that held the catering tables. Tessa picked a few things, since some of the stuff was a little different than what she was use to. She didn't want to try anything too weird while at work, since she couldn't be sure what would make her sick. She didn't want to be sick at work on her first day, that would be a good way to lose her job with a quickness.
After lunch, Tessa was given her first patient. It was just a minor burn, but Ana decided that Tessa was more than fit to diagnose and treat the patient. Tessa didn't have much trouble, and the person that was hurt was very understanding and willing to give Tessa a moment to think and figure stuff out on her own.
In the end, all he needed was a little burn cream and have the area wrapped until it fully healed. The bandages would have to be changed before he went home, to make sure the area stayed clean and dry. A burn from a dragon could easily get infected if someone wasn't careful with how they were treating it.
Tessa helped a couple other people, before it was time for everyone to head home for the day. The first stop Tessa and Charlie made was to pick up Ricky. Tessa was very happy to see her little boy, since she hadn't seen him all day. She would eventually have to get use being away from him for a few hours a day, but for now it was new, and she definitely wasn't use to it.
"So, what do you think of your job, Tess?" Charlie asked, as Tessa cooked dinner for them.
"I like it," Tessa replied,"I wrote down a lot of the stuff Ana told me, so I can study it and remember everything to the best of my ability."
"Y'know you don't have to be perfect, some of the other nurses still carry around a notebook with little notes and reminders in them for things they need to know for their job." Charlie commented, and Tessa sighed.
"I'm a muggle though, Charlie, and that puts eyes on me already. I want to try and look very smart, so maybe all eyes won't be on me all the time just for who I am, or rather what I am." Tessa said, making Charlie frown.
"If the others are bothering you, I can always talk to them, or tell Ana to talk to them." Charlie replied, but Tessa shook her head.
"No, I don't want you to handle all my problems, Charlie. I can handle this myself, and I promise if it gets worse I'll tell you. Until then, let me handle it." Tessa commented, and Charlie nodded.
"I know you can handle yourself. You're a strong woman, Tess." He answered, making her smile.
Tessa truly hoped that this was all she was going to have to deal with for being a muggle. She didn't want to be targeted for who she was. It wasn't her fault, and she didn't want to be shamed for it by others...
