Concurrent Colors

The clouds, surrounding—
north, south, east, west;
it was as if they were just above
the crust of the earth, so low
I could graze the underside of their ginormous bellies.

It's that odd transition
between summer and fall;
the colors have begun to change,
the heat had been deflating the clouds all summer
but now they are swelling up,
and aspects of both seasons are seen concurrently:

a mango summer sunset
blending with a tinted autumn glaze.
