It's impossible. It's simply just not possible. No way she'd go that far just out of boredom. She's after them for a reason, a big and unexplained reason. A grudge bigger than any I've ever held. First thing I thought of was to run back home as fast as I could. I know the answer to the poison was somewhere inside one of the many books I possess. This type of poison must be rare and so dangerous to the point where it could take out a vampire that quick. For it to be even capable of hurting him that badly is already worrisome enough.

I was in such a hurry to get home that I hadn't even realized that Nancy had seen the vampiric side of me. Seeing me transform from a normal human being to one who's running faster than a cheetah and has eyes more vibrant than a cat that has very bright looking snake eyes. By then, i had already reached my house and had been flipping through every book I owned. Though reading for vampires is the same as for a human so it took me a while just to find the right genre to search through.

Every second I spent trying to find a solution, I felt as though I was letting Blaire down more and more.

Until I found a book by the title "Bloodied Wings Of The Wicked" I flipped the cover open just to reveal an illustration that intrigued me enough to read inside of the book. The book had many images inside with few words describing each one. There was a picture of a woman who wore a dirtied dress. Eating at it was red angry fire. Fire that she seemed to be controlling. Like she was the fire. Behind her was a big Phoenix Bird glowing an ombre of red, orange, and yellow. Everything is fire. Fire coated wings, dress, hair and full on body. this woman isn't on fire, she is the fire, looking like she could engulf a whole town in her flames. For some unknown reason, the sight of something that powerful sent shivers all along my spine.

Just when I thought things couldn't have gotten any scarier, I read what was under the image.

"By far one of the strongest creatures to roam the earth, with not only possessing the ability to resurrect after enduring a brutal death. But also resurrecting with a fresh and pure heart. And although its fire is more scorching than the ninth circle of hell, the Phoenix heals others with a kind and forgiving heart. Only people with such pure hearts can truly connect with the mighty Phoenix Bird. The pure hearted will begin to vanish off the face of the earth when the Bird finally arrives, possessing the final heart of the chosen one. Chosen by the Gods in heaven.

"Although they are very powerful and pure-hearted, if the chosen one controls their fire with the power of vengeance, it may lead to losing their kindness along with their humanity and soul. Leaving behind the shell of the 'Angel of Dawn'."

And suddenly, I knew what this all was about.

They grab us as soon as we arrive. That is after they pointed 30 guns at my head and wore oven mitts for Blaire, which is by far the most ridiculous part of today considering she melted van we were just in not long ago.

Blaire, though, isn't responsive in the least. Not after I compelled her to remember what happened in that alley. I'm still not sure if it was the right thing to do or not. But I can't be right because it's not natural to erase peoples memories. Her hair is tangled and messy and my T-shirt is covering barely anything. She's blankly staring at the ground as the guards drag her.

Her being quiet after the news she just heard is the least of my concerns right now. We're going into the kingdom that I grew up in. The one I was once destined to rule, but not anymore. It's now crawling with criminals, beasts, and thieves. Anyone who's committed a felony hides here, and no one dares come inside because of Alana's ruthless reputation. She's known for locking people up inside black painted rooms, the whole room is painted in the darkest shade of black ever created by the kingdom's witches. Once they're inside, she begins torturing them by their fears. Searches their minds, finds out their fears, make them come true until she leaves their brain completely fried.
