                                                                                                Skye

The mild temperature was keeping me awake tonight, I just couldn't sleep, it wasn't cold enough to have a blanket, but it wasn't warm enough to not have it either. So here I was, just lying here, staring outside, silhouettes of trees and bushes shown by the moon stood tall in the night, I didn't mind being awake it gave me a chance to have a talk with myself, no I wasn't crazy, sometimes the best person to talk to is myself I'm the only one who truly understands what I'm saying. I started thinking about someone close to me and the friendship I had with him, yes you probably already know who I'm talking about, Marshall, I had to talk to him, he was basically my brother I looked up to him for advice and guidance when I needed someone to talk to, he understood me better than anybody. I glanced over to the clock on my pup house wall it was 1:43 AM, "I hope Marshall is awake as well" I pondered as I climbed out of my bed and wondered outside, the fresh air nipping my skin sending a slight shiver through me. I made my way to Marshall pup house and quietly knocked on his door "Marshall, are you awake?" I asked gently as I slid his door open to reveal an empty house, Marshall wasn't there "where would he be?" I glanced around inside again "especially at this time of night" I continued to let these worried thoughts intrude my mind, that was until I heard a voice behind me "I'm over here Skye" I jumped and winced at the fright I received "geez Marshall why did you have to scare me like that?" I angrily whispered as much as I wanted to give him a little yell at for scaring me, I didn't want to wake the other pups up. "Why are you out here" I asked him I was curious to know, it wasn't like him to be out at night. He told me to follow him over to the tree near the cliffside and we sat down in silence for a few minutes before he spoke up "Skye, c-ca-can I talk about something a bit more personal with you?" he asked giving me an awkward smile "of course you can Marshall, anything you need I'm here" I was extremely curious "what could he possibly want to talk about with me". He sat silent for a minute, letting his mind process what he was going to say, every second I grew more intrigued into what he could possibly be hesitating about. Finally, he spoke "it's about Everest" he mumbled, my ears pricked, and I looked at his eyes, I could see he was nervous "I-I think I'm I-I-in love with her" he stuttered out, and to be completely honest I wasn't surprised "I know" I spat out, he gazed up at me a stunned expression on his face "you did?" he asked, I nodded at him "go tell her, trust me you won't regret it". I knew this to be true as Everest had told me about her feelings towards Marshall a few weeks ago. He sat for another minute staring out across the sea before speaking again "thanks Skye, but now there's something we need to talk about" he said it in such a serious tone I froze "this can't be good" I thought to myself, but I had to pursue so I responded to him "what about?" he gave me a look that said seriously, "well I wanted to talk to you about Chase" my eyes widened hearing this and I felt butterflies but Marshall continued before I had time to think "he asked me to help out, don't let him know this though he's a bit embarrassed about it" Marshall giggled about the thought "anyway, he's in love with you". I was in shock I couldn't believe it, there was no way this was true Chase was too far out of my league for him to be in love with me, "but he's too afraid of being rejected, I'm not supposed to be telling you this, but I know you have a long-time interest in him". Marshall was right, I had told him about my love for Chase and how I'd do anything for a chance with him. Marshall could see I was stunned "I'll leave you to ponder on that information, thank you and your welcome for everything" Marshall wondered off to bed and I waddled over to mine and laid down shivering in excitement and anxiousness "I have to do something now" I thought as I drifted off to sleep.

                                                                                            Chase

The morning birds chirped me awake as I yawned getting up and stretching "boy what a night, I had such a good sleep and a dream about me and Skye". I made my way into the lookout where I was greeted by Ryder "good morning, Ryder" I cheered "good morning, Chase!" he responded. Ryder left carrying a bunch of gear and clothes and said he was going to load the paw patroller, I thought this was weird as we weren't going anywhere especially not on a trip, unless he was planning to surprise us. I decided to go for a walk around the bay, but after five minutes of walking I got a call on my pup tag, it was Ryder "Paw Patrol to the lookout!" I turned around and started sprinting back to the lookout. By the time I got there everyone was already in the elevator even Marshall surprisingly, I hopped into my spot as the elevator rose delivering us at the top with a ding of the doors, I jumped forward "Paw Patrol ready for action Ryder sir!" I barked, Ryder gave me a smile "thanks Chase, but there's no action today" he said, I was confused why would he call us if there wasn't an emergency "were going for a visit back to adventure city to have a break and catch up with liberty again" he added on. I felt a small amount of panic, although I might've overcome most of my fear last time we were there, I was still afraid about parts of it. We loaded up the Paw Patroller and took off making our way to pick up Everest before heading to the city. Skye and Everest were having a conversation down the back occasionally glancing at me and Marshall who was sitting beside me.
