Au:

YALL I GOT LOCKED OUT OF MY ACCOUNT AGAIN.

I always forget which of my many email addresses this fanfic is in, or I forget the password and an email has to be sent to one of my OTHER many email addresses.

The point is, I've written down what email address is for this account and its password on Notes (which honestly isn't the safest option but you know desperate times call for desperate measures) so hopefully weekly uploads will resume!!

This week's chapter won't be on anything that happens in the show, and is strictly my own original material. With that being said, it's gonna be shorter than the others.

But don't worry! I have three other chapters written in advance that are longer, which have more Shoto action as well as general chaos.

Let the games begin!

??? POV

I'm on my feet before I can stop myself.

I don't know why I'm running. I don't know why my breath has quickened from panic, nor why I'm sprinting as fast as I can.

I think I should stop. I know I should stop.

But there's this feeling, this deep rooted intuition from God knows where and God knows why that's telling me to run after her.

My eyes track her falling from the sky, calculating where she's most likely landing.

I won't make it in time.

She's too far away.

I scan the surroundings of my neighbourhood.

The golden hour streams through the trees and onto the road, giving me an idea.

I can't believe I'm doing this.

y/n's Pov

HUASRHFPRUHGHPERHGPOARUEGHPAERUGHPIEURHTPIQUERHTPQORHGPOERIHGPOQ

My mind is in shambles.

It seems like my little flying commands only go one at a time, so I can't picture myself landing on the forest floor right now to stop myself.

I need to stop. I need to think.

But logically, there's no way I can save myself.

I'll have to rely on someone else to save me, and AGFPAISUGFPIAUSGFPAIURGH

This is so embarrassing. This is so humbling. I will NEVER be able to live this down.

I have no doubt I'll be saved by some pro hero or classmate, so at least I won't be at the mercy of actual Angels.

But even if my physical body is still alive, right now my spirit is lonng gone. It's left my body.

I'M A DANGER TO MYSELF.

Mid-air I cover my face with my hands as my baggy uniform billows around me.

No Y/n. I need to enjoy this sunset and the lovely feeling of the air whooshing past me.

Wait. Hold on.

Why aren't I burning up right now?

Even though the air feels nice and fresh, inside and under my skin I don't feel hot at all.

What in the world is-

"Gotcha."

What?

*Third person*

"Gotcha" Kirishima says happily.

He has you in his arms bridal style, catching you nice and snugly mid air.

It seems he has jumped from a tree to catch you. That man has balls of steel.

orrrrr balls of rock LMAO

He lands with a nice and soft pat on the dirt below and glances down at you, his smile stretching wide over his face. He seems happy with himself for being the one to save you.

Concern suddenly pulls his eyebrows together.

"Y/n, what was that about?"

Before anything else, know this. Kirishima's breath smells like watermelon bubblegum.

You swallow nervously. You don't know how to put it into words without sounding even more weak and stupid than you've already proven yourself to be.

I mean, what were you supposed to say?

"Yeah. I can fly." You look away, into the trees of the forest.

Awkward silence fills the forest as you realise that you're still in Kirishima's arms.

He still has that same concerned face, only his brows are even more arched.

"Could you-" You move your limbs as if to signify your desire to get down.

He starts, and scrambles to let you down.

He's a bit too hasty however. He just full on RELEASES you and you fall on your back.

Poor you. You're having a rough day.

"Oh my God I'm so sorry." He bends down you help you up and you chuckle awkwardly, saying "no no its fine"

Again, another moment passes where he has your hand in his for longer than he should have, but drops your hand as if it was flaming hot.

"I just figured out today that I can fly, and I haven't really gotten the hang of it."

Even with all the emotions swirling around in that dense head of yours, gratitude manages to push and squeeze its way in.

"Thank you so, so much for saving me Kirishima. I honestly don't know what I'd do with myself if a Pro Hero saved me." You look into his eyes, earnestly, clueless about the effect your eyes have on people.

He turns beet red and runs a hand through his dark red hair.

He clears his throat and forces his eyes back on you. "W-what you don't think I'm like a pro hero?"

"NO! I mean, no, t-that's NOT what I meant at all-"

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA-"

??? Pov

I have reached a new low.

Not only have I turned a road to ice and skated for dear life, I am now creeping in a tree watching Kirishima completely botch flirting with y/n.

This is just...crazy.

i'm going home.

I don't think I can stand another second of this humiliation.

ANOTHER au:

GUYSSS

I know this chapter seems more like a Kirishima ff than a Shoto one, but this IS a slowburn!!

Right now, that begs the question: Team Kirihima or Team Shoto?

(I'm team Uraraka)
