Dawn

Time alone

After two days they could take Dawn home. She was all better now and the fever broke. She was still a little weak and she didn't want to sleep alone. Day and Itt didn't mind, happy to have her lying next to them. Khun Kamol started an investigation and they had found out that Mon was off her meds for a few weeks now. No one noticed because she was living alone and she was still working half days. Phi convinced his aunt to get her better help and he also decided to move in with her.

Itt's hand was healing well although he still couldn't use it. He needed 15 stitches because the wound was so deep it almost touched the bone. While the nurse was stitching him, he closed his eyes letting the tears he had held back fall down his cheeks. Gear, Nick and Kim who were standing with him acted like they didn't notice it, talking to each other.

After a few days of being home, Day and Itt went back to work. Dawn stayed by Itt's mom and if possible she stayed with her dads.

"Papa, where is Dad? Dawn can't find dad and Dawn has a question."

Itt turned around looking down on the little girl standing behind him. "Dad is working, what is Dawn's question? Maybe papa can help."

Dawn shook her head stubbornly. "Papa can't help Dawn because it's a surprise and papa can't keep a secret."

Itt laughed softly and picked the girl up holding her in his arms and he kissed her on the head.

"Okay, then let's find dad so Dawn can ask the question."

Itt walked towards Day's office knocking at the door and opening it as soon as he heard come in.

"Day, Dawn has a question she wants to ask you and she won't tell me."

He put Dawn down and she ran to Day climbing up so she could sit on his lap. "Dad, can you tell papa to leave? Dawn has to tell dad a secret and Dawn doesn't want papa to know?"

Day looked up to Itt and laughed. "You heard Dawn, Itt please leave my office so I can talk to my princess." Itt also laughed and turned around leaving the office, closing the door behind him.

After work Itt walked back to Day's office not bothering knocking because he had seen Dawn sitting on Day's lap through the window. He opened the door and looked around the corner. "Can I come in now or are you still talking about secrets?"

"No papa, Dawn and dad are done talking." Dawn jumped off Day's lap and Itt picked her up walking towards Day. Before Itt could say or do anything, Day pulled him closer until he was sitting on Day's lap still holding Dawn.

"Day, what are you doing?" Itt felt his face flush and he tried to stay calm. Dawn laughed and snuggled into Itt's chest.

"Papa is sitting on dad's lap just like Dawn. Does dad love papa just as much as dad loves Dawn?"

Day smiled at his little princess. "I love Dawn and papa, so so much. You two are the most important people in my life."

Dawn smiled and then yawned, her eyes closing slowly, her head resting on Itt's chest and Itt resting against Day's strong chest. Day had wrapped his arms around Itt and Dawn holding them close. He had never felt as happy and as blessed as he did now.

"Day, what was the secret Dawn told you about?"

Day smiled and looked at Itt rubbing his side softly. "Well your mom told Dawn that we needed some time for ourselves so Dawn came to tell me that she would sleep over at Grandma's house. She didn't want to tell you because she is scared that you can't sleep without her. So I told her that it wouldn't be a problem."

Itt looked confused. "Why wouldn't it be a problem?"

Day laughed again and kissed Itt's white neck. "Because I didn't plan on sleeping tonight."
