Halley Vanderveen and Peter Parker had been best friends since the second grade. He'd saved her after Flash Thompson had accidentally gotten a piece of gum stuck in her hair on picture day but cutting some pretty awful bangs to get it out. Her picture may have turned out terrible that year but it was the start to a beautiful friendship.
