DISTANT STAR

VICKIS POV

BY THE TIME the man was done processing what had just happened, he became fully aware of my presence.
"Who are you?" He asks, walking towards me.

"Woah!" I put my hands infront of me, signaling him to stop. "My names Victoria. You?" I ask. He just grunts, picks up his crossbow and starts walking in the direction of the car.

"Hey! Did you not hear me? I asked you your name." I followed him. He just completely ignores me. "Whatever." I scoff and roll my eyes. I started walking faster than him but in the same direction, since my camp is there.

"I don't need your help if that's what you're doing." He mumbles. "My camp is this way. Not that you're interested in it in any way." I told him.

"Come on." He says. "What?" I asked with a smug look on my face. "Lead the way." He waves his arm.

MALORIES POV

AS SOON AS I woke up I immediately got up, even though I was still half asleep."Vicki, are you back?" I called out. I checked the time. it's only 5:23 am, mal. It hasn't even been a full 24 hours since she left." I whispered to myself.

'Oh god...what if she's dead? Or kidnapped? Or trapped? Or bit and already turned?' The bad thoughts started flooding my brain as I paced back and forth inside the store.

'What if she's in trouble an-and I decide to not look for her and then she gets mad at me for not going after her and then-' I stopped pacing, and looked at my bag.

'No, no no. Don't go after her. She'll be even more mad about the fact that I left. Or-or if she found another group and completely forgot about me?' At that point, I was on the verge of crying, but I fought the tears.

'She's okay. She's okay. She okay. She's okay.' I told myself. Boy, was I wrong.

VICKIS POV

IT WAS SUNRISE AND I was sweating and panting. "How much further do we have?" Daryl, whose name I know now. "Just a little More..." I barely got those words out. "Woah, you good?" Daryl asks turning to me. "Yeah, I'm fine." I wasn't fine, I couldn't tell that- thud I fell to my knees.

"Hey, hey. Are you okay? What's wrong?" He asks, his hand on my shoulder. "I said I'm fine." I said. "You don't seem fine." he says. He put my arm around his shoulders for support.

After about 5-7 minutes we made it. "There." I said.

MALORIES POV

I WAS SITTING ON the floor still thinking about Vicki. When suddenly I heard the glass door shake, there was something, no, someone, because the handle was shaking and ain't no way an infected could do that.

I immediately got up, unsheathed my knife and hid. There was tarps covering the glass so I couldn't see who it was, but it sure wasn't Vicki.

Vicki would whistle, yeah whistle. "Hold on" I heard a male voice say. Oh, hell no. That was definitely Not Vicki. The small desk that I pushed against the door got knocked down.

Then the door opened. My heart was beating a million miles per minute. My eyes were closed and I was praying in my head that he or they wouldn't find me.

"Mal?..." I heard...Vicki? "Mal, where are you?" She sounded tired, very tired. I didn't waste another second, and immediately got out from my hiding spot.

"Vicki! I was so worried about-" she looked pale and tired, and she couldn't even stand. There was a man holding her up. "What did you do her!!?" I yelled immediately walking over to them.
