"TANJIRO!?"
She stared at the boy in front of her who she just bumped into in the hallway.
"[Name]? It's good to see you!" He greeted, and then a worried look replaced his usual friendly one. "Are you okay? What happened?"
"Oh," she mused, "I got hurt— badly while I was on a mission." [Name] rubbed the back of her neck while looking down at him. "But, anyway, what're you doing here?"
"I was on a mission and we encountered a lower moon." He responded with a simple smile as if it wasn't a dangerous thing that happened. [Name] looked shocked at first but quickly regained posture, motioning for him to continue. "Sadly I wasn't able to behead it. Mister Tomioka did. I'm really glad he was able to save me and the others."
[Name] perked up, remembering Nezuko, "Is your sister okay?" She asked with a hint of concern in her tone. Tanjiro nodded with a reassuring smile which made [Name] sigh in relief. Even though [Name] hasn't properly met Nezuko yet, she still is worried about the people around her.
Tanjiro told her everything that happened on the mountain from meeting new friends named Zenitsu and Inosuke on the way to fighting demons that had spider like abilities. He even mentioned the part where he was with the Hashira's.
[Name] grimaced when he told her that a certain someone called Sanemi stabbed Nezuko. She knew it was his job to defeat demon but Nezuko showed seriously no threat to her. And after telling her the humiliation Sanemi got she laughed but quickly whined in pain.
"You managed to headbutt Sanemi?" [Name] managed to say through her wheezing. She knew that she had something new to tease her mentor about.
After the laughter died down [Name] told him about her mission. Tanjiro listened carefully and perked up at the mention of Genya.
"That's how I ...lost the eyesight in my left eye." She muttered out, looking at her hands that nervously fiddled with the hem of her shirt.
Tanjiro tried comforting her but deep down [Name] knew that it will never be the same again with that injury. It just added another reason not to look in any mirror.
They chatted for a bit before they both realized that they had to go to Aoi for the recovery training. [Name] already got stretched out by the girls and beat up Kanao but also won against her at the challenge with the tea cup.
