"Chikis?"
"Chikis!"
My eyes snapped open to the sight of my pink canopy curtains and twinkling fairy lights. I tried to focus my eyes on the comforting glow the lights gave me, but I couldn't breathe. While sitting up quickly I placed my left hand on my chest and began practicing the breathing exercises my aunt taught me since little.
"1..."
I say in a whisper as I breathed in through my nose and out through my mouth.
"2..."
I felt my heartbeat begin to slow down and it slowly became easier to breathe.
"3..."
I felt a sudden yet familiar nudge at my side under my fluffy blanket. Picking up the blanket I was met with big yellow eyes that seemed concerned. "Oh Shinx... I am okay..." I say picking him up, tears softly running down my face as I hug him close to me.
"Let's go start the day" I sigh out as I hold Shinx with one arm and wipe my eyes with the other. I snuggle with him closely as I got up from my comfortable bed and slip on my pink fluffy slippers; heading to the kitchen.
