Veronica is indeed mature. From the beginning, I've felt a tinge of envy towards her. She is capable of making decisions for herself, has a mature mindset, and is kind-hearted.
But she also deserves to have a best friend who is spontaneous in decision-making, childish, and excessively kind. I chuckled to myself. It's Saturday today and Veronica and I had plans to bond.
I got dressed and wore a white dress with long sleeves. I also put white small ribbons on both sides of my long hair.
I'm assuming it's Veronica. As I approached the door to open it, I was surprised to see my mom standing in front of me.
"Mommy, bakit po? nand'yan na po ba si Veronica?" I asked, and my mom let out a sigh.
"Well, I went to the bakery shop at nadaanan ko ang bahay nila Veronica. Her parents were scolding her for being late on the first day of school, and I know that you were with her, Aurina Lizel. Did you do something to her that caused you both to be late?"
"Ah, Haha." I awkwardly laughed I scratched my head. "Bff things lang 'yun, mommy. Uhm . . P-Pupuntahan ko lang po si Veronica, Mommy. Bye po, kumain na kayo!" I giggled and ran out of the house, noticing that my mom had a puzzled expression on her face but eventually smiled.

Kung-tutuusin, it's not really far, I just ran here so I got a little tired.
I rang the doorbell at their gate. I didn't want to shout and cause any disturbance. I knew that Veronica's parents had been upset since earlier. At alam kong nakaalis narin sila.
Nag doorbell ulit ako since no one came out of the house, some people hate me because they think I'm impatient. And that's true.
I was about to press the doorbell again. "If you keep pressing that, it will break." Napatigil ako sa nag-salita. My eyes widened as I recognized whose voice it was.
"What, Impossible." I mumbled at nakatulala. Come on, Aurina! Don't be scared. It could just be someone who sounds like him.
I glanced at him and my jaw dropped as I saw the man I loved. It was. . . Dean. I tapped my cheeks to check if I was just dreaming.
I chuckled to myself, kaka-Dean ko lang 'to.
"Oh, Ms. Prosala, ikaw pala 'yan. I didn't recognize you." He opened the gate and let me in.
"Hi, Dean. You can call me Aurina, pero kung gusto mo talagang original surname ko ang i-tatawag mo sa'kin, well, you can call me Ms. Vassalard–"
"Oh! Aurina, pasok ka." I was interrupted mid-sentence by Veronica speaking up. I pouted. Dean chuckled.

"AHH" I screamed. "Totoo ba? kapatid mo talaga si Dean?" I excitedly asked.
"Yes, so please be quiet. Don't be too loud, as the neighbors might hear you, and even your mom might hear the shouting of yours." She rolled her eyes.
I nodded and hushed, trying not to make too much noise. "Okay so, bakit hindi kayo mag-kamukha?"
"Because, we're non-identical siblings."
She chuckled when she see my reaction. "It means that despite being siblings, we may not share similar physical features." Napa-tango ako.
"E' ba't iiba ang Surname n'yo? S'ya, Vassalardo, Ikaw naman, Valador." Many questions are entering my mind, I need to know everything about the future spouse I will marry. I chuckled to myself, Come on, Aurina, you're just 17.
But even if we're young, and this is just a young love, as they say, I will make sure that he will be with me as we grow older.
"Seriously?" Veronica whispered. "Well when siblings have different surnames, it's because they we are in different countries, it is often referred to as having 'differing surnames due to international circumstances.' This situation can arise when siblings are born or raised in different countries, and their surnames may reflect the naming conventions or legal requirements of each respective country." She sighed, "Gets mo na?" Napa-tango nalang ako.
I paused for a moment, "Why didn't you mention that Dean is your sibling? And yesterday at school, you didn't even acknowledge each other."
"That's why I'm telling you, Aurina. Because I know Dean. I know he's famous for his football skills. And he tells me stories about his crazy fans who are willing to do anything just to see and feel him. That's why I'm keeping you away from him. At kung hindi mo titigilan 'yan, baka magiging katulad mo rin sila."
"No, hindi ako magiging katulad nila, Is that how you see me? As an obsessed fool who just wants to see and feel him?"
Umiling-iling s'ya. "No, that's not how I see you at all. I understand that you care deeply for Dean and want to be close to him. I was simply expressing concern for your well-being and wanting to protect you from any potential harm or unwanted attention."
Paanong pinapaasa? ang pangit kase sa'yo, whenever you have something to say, you just say it without considering if it is good or makes sense. You still say it because of your emotions, You don't care about what you say, you just speak hastily without considering the quality or coherence of your words."

Author's Note: I acknowledge that you find this particular scene problematic. However, it serves as a valuable lesson on the importance of exercising caution and thoughtfulness when expressing our emotions and opinions. It is widely recognized that words spoken in anger often lead to regret. Thus, it is essential for us to lend an ear to those who express concern for us and offer their support, as we understand that their intentions are ultimately for our own well-being.
