[Louis' P.O.V]

He'd stopped breathing. Probably the most essential thing of living, and my Kitten had ceased from doing it for a few moments. And I wasn't even able to do anything about it. I wasn't even there for him when he needed me. Luckily, Dr. Shell had been around or... I honestly couldn't even bring myself to think of the consequences. Because by some sort of gift of nature, Harry was alright. He slept before me, keeping a loose grip on my hand. Judging by the window in the far corner of the room, it was early morning. Dr. Shell had informed me that it would be safer if Harry stayed over night so he could watch him, and I wasn't going to object.

I hadn't slept a wink, though. I was terrified that Harry would have another allergic reaction of some sort in his sleep, afraid no one would notice and be able to stop it. Dr. Shell had dragged air mattresses, and what he had them for I had no idea, from a storage room outside of the lab to give to Liam and Niall to share one while he kept one for himself. They were all still asleep, but I sat and watched Harry's chest rise and fall. Again, I'd taken off work for the second time in the week. I couldn't bring myself to leave Harry.

The night before, I had called Zayn once Harry's puffy lips no longer looked blue, and when the boy had begin to rub his face against my hand happily. He'd nearly died, but all that he cared about was the fact that I was back with him and not at work. Zayn had absolutely freaked out when I told him.

"He had an allergic reaction to what?!" I could still hear him bellow in my mind.

"Shellfish," I'd told him.

Zayn had Chris must have been going to dinner together or something because I hear Chris' muffled voice say, "Ask if he's alright! That poor lad!"

"He's okay, thank goodness," I told Zayn before he could ask. "But it was close."

Zayn was completely understanding that I was taking off from work again, and he told me to tell Harry to get better soon. Zayn had feared for the boy just hearing that he'd had an allergic reaction, I'd been terrified for my Kitten when I was informed as it was happening, and poor Niall and Liam had witnessed the entire thing. Granted, at least wished I could have been there to support my Kitten even if it meant being scarred for life, which I already felt traumatized knowing that I could have lost my baby.

Niall, up until he finally passed out cuddled up with Liam, had continued to beg Harry for forgiveness. Harry wasn't allowed to talk or exert himself, so he would simply pat Niall's hand and set Niall off into apologizing all over again. But now Harry was sleeping, not necessarily contentedly, but he was happy. The boy was used to cuddling up with me, but Dr. Shell said, that because his allergic reaction had been so severe, it would be best if he remained lying flat for a few hours. The only time he'd been allowed to stand was when Dr. Shell was placing a roll out foam cover over the table so Harry had some type of cushion, and it only took less than a minute in which I was supporting Harry the entire time. Even that short amount of exertion, however, had caused Harry's stomach to upset, and he'd thrown up. That certainly panicked me. Once I'd been informed that it was normal and  that Harry was going to be alright, Dr. Shell offered me an air mattress, but I'd told him I'd be just fine with a simple metal chair next to Harry. However, I got a better chair than I asked for.

It was an office chair that leaned back, and had a cushiony seat and armrests. I didn't use it to lean back, I'd just leaned forward in it, rubbing Harry's tummy and playing with his hair until he fell asleep. The boy kept wanting to roll onto his side and let me onto the table with him, and I declined each time, making him stay on his back.
