"What? No it's only..."

I look at the clock on the wall.

2:00

"Holy shit"

Magically the fire was still burning as much as it was when I apparently fell asleep. I start to sit up but then I stop and look over to Malfoy.

"Why are you down here?"

"Does it matter?"

"Uh, well yea, it's past curfew."

He gave a small smirk as he sat next to where I just was. I still stood with my arms crossed.

"Someone's nosey huh?"

I scrunch my nose.

"You wish"

He gives a small laugh. There was a comforting silence as I looked towards the fire one last time before walking my way out of the room.

"You know I wanted to say sorry, for getting in your face in the hallway earlier, that wasn't like me."

Suddenly my body felt cold. Was thee Draco Malfoy apologizing? To me? I looked over my shoulder in shock not saying anything. He wasn't looking at Me. Just staring into the fire.

"I'm sorry what?"

I sat back down next to him. My arms still crossed. I wore a smirk across my lips. He glances over at me but quickly focuses on the fire again.

"I'm not repeating it."

I slouched more in the couch.

"Shame."

He side eyed me. We sat in silence for a few more minutes. Just staring at the fire.

"Fires nice isn't it."

I glance to him and nod my head.

"I love sitting down here after hours. It's so calm. And there's no blanket in the world that can make me feel the same warmth then a fire does"

He nods his head in agreeance. Soon enough I stand up and start walking towards the dorm rooms again.

"It's past curfew ya know."

I called over my shoulder. I hear a scoff.

"Night then"

He called back to me. I smiled to myself. Maybe Malfoy wasn't gonna be a complete dick this year. Perhaps he matured. I walked into my room with everyone already sleeping. I climb into bed and close my eyes.

"Omg Lia when did you come to bed last night?"

I wake up to Eliza's voice close to my ear. When I opens my eyes I realized she was sitting on the edge of my bed, leaning over me.

"Like 2:30?"

"2:30! That would explain the dark circles on your eyes."

I shrugged my shoulders as I sat up. I looked around the room to see the other girls brushing their hair and such. The girls we bunked with were Felicity, Millicent, and pansy.

"Are you gonna spend the rest of the last day of summer before school in bed?"

I sat there for a minute debating. I could. I was so tired. However the silence from me wasn't a good answer for Eliza which earned me a slap the leg.

"No your not! I can't go to breakfast without you. And I'm starving!"

I laughed and stood up. I dressed my self casual. Just pajama pants and my house jumper. We walked out in the common room and it wasn't to crowded. The people in there looking at their schedules. We walk through the halls and into the great hall. Breakfast is smelling amazing. We sit down and begin to fill our plates when a tired zabini comes and sits across from us.

"Morning!"

Eliza said excitedly. Blaise looks at her and softly smiles as he realizes that he is to tired to keep up with her enthusiasm. He tries his best with a "good morning" but it wasn't as nearly cheerful as Hers. We greet each other as well as piles potatoes on his plate. We start to eat and talk about what we hope our schedules are like when the infamous blonde walks in. I stare at him hoping to catch his eye and wave. Fortunately I do catch his eye, but it didn't go the way I wanted it to. Instead he looked at me with annoyance.

"What are you looking at Amelia?"

I was surprised at the attitude considering just last night we sat together near the fire. Some what enjoying each other's company. Or so I thought. I put my hand down from what was supposed to be a wave. I look to Eliza and Blaise and they both had confusing looks on their faces.

"Did you just try to say good morning to Malfoy?"

She questioned me. Before I could answer Blaise asks...

"This wouldn't have anything to do with last night would it."

"Last night!?"

Eliza and I say at the same time.

"What the fuck happened last night Lia"

I put my hands up in defense.

"Eliza it's definitely not what your thinking. Last night I fell asleep by the fire and Malfoy came down for whatever reason and we kinda talked for a bit."

She was staring at me with the most confused look.

"He's mean to you. Your mean to him. You guys don't like each other."

"He apologized."

Her fork dropped in her eggs.

"He apologized?"

"Yes he did."

Blaise chimed in.

"Wait yea Blaise how do you know about this?"

"I bunk with the guy. You don't think he was debating on going down there to apologize or not? Man was pacing for 45 minutes."

I stared at him with a blank face.

"What.did.I.say."

Eliza starts. I roll my eyes.

"Absolutely not."

"Malfoy is definitely different this year."

Blaise sways his head side to side slightly agreeing with her.

"BLAISE!"

"I've never seen him act like this okay? I mean when has he ever apologized to anyone?"

I sighed and looked down the table to see him talking to his friends with pansy around his arm. I will admit it hurt ever so slightly. Why I have no idea. I don't feel anything towards him. But they way he was so normal last night. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, no one was around for him to show off. He was nice. And now he's back to being a dick.

I shook my head.

"There's nothing between me and malfoy. And there won't be. He's a dick. Let's go get our schedules."
