First meeting, fluff, these bitches neurodivergent, and gay, one-sided pining, it's not angsty tho I swear

Based on that one EVE mv.

Pecan stumbled outside, her body trembling. She felt around blindly before finding a wall to lay against. She let out a relieved sigh.

The party has gotten quite loud. The noises, lights, people. Usually, she'd be stoked to be in a room with so many new folks, but tonight it got to be too much.

Pecan took a deep breath, trying to get some air into her suffocating lungs.

This was not the time to shut down, she thinks, looking for things to focus on to ground herself.

It's nighttime. She could barely see the stars up there. If only they weren't in the city… She'd love to go stargazing someday. Perhaps with someone she knew.

She counted four empty lounge chairs, five scattered miscellaneous items, and three tables. Another was at the bottom of the pool.

Pecan sighed, sliding down the wall dramatically.

As she ran a paw across her face, something, or rather, someone, caught her eye.

She was sitting by said pool, a shimmering green mermaid tail slung over the edge.

Pecan's eyes widened.

How'd she not notice her before? Guess she was too distracted calming herself, that she didn't see a whole person.

At that moment, the party became background noise.

She was so pretty, a head of brown hair that nearly stopped at her shoulders. Pecan stared at her face, her irises a mesmerizing bright pink.

They had dog ears, just like her. But hers were black and way bigger.

She looked a little irritated, her tail flipping back and forth.

Slowly, it finally started to shift into legs, her expression softening. Pecan watched in curiosity. She had no idea she was staring.

"Oy, you need something?" She said suddenly, making Pecan flinch.

"Oh-! I'm so sorry!" Her cheeks get warm. She didn't mean to be creepy, honest!

Instead of a reply, the girl just chuckled, shaking her head to get the water out. She seemed chill.

"You mind passing me that towel?"

Pecan shuffled a bit closer, grabbing it from one of the chairs and handing it off to her silently.

"Thanks. What's your name?" She asks, drying herself off.

Pecan swallows the lump in her throat.

"Pea- Pecan." She stammers.

"Hm, cute."

Her heart flutters.

"Thank you, Pecan. See you later."

As her legs had fully formed, she stood up, walked past her and disappeared into the apartment.

"Ah... See you..."

She probably should've asked for her name as well.

Pecan, after seeing that she was out of view, let out the breath she was holding.

She felt so drawn to her. Shit- maybe she was a siren. Pecan shook off the thought.

"God. I'm too fucking gay." She mumbles.

Once she's relaxed, (y'know, the thing she came here to do in the first place), Pecan found it in herself to step back inside, the party still bustling with people and sounds.

It wasn't as overwhelming now, at least, and she could finally enjoy herself.

She'd participated in a few drinking games and struck up idle chit-chat. Afterwards, she was feeling kinda tipsy.

Pecan trudged to the upstairs bathroom. She'd planned to splash some water on  herself to wake up.

As she opened the door, she locked eyes with that mermaid chick she'd bumped into a few hours ago. Albeit without the mermaid tail.

There were a few other girls. One had her fingers wrapped around her neck, the other had a phone, recording.

The girl had bruises and a bloody nose, her teeth gritted together in anger. She was gripping the wrist of the hand on her throat.

They made eye contact, and Pecan saw her face become fearful. It was only for a split second, but that was enough.

Pecan's stomach dropped.

It was like time had stopped, and it was then she'd shoved them off her.

Pecan grabbed the mystery girl by her shirt and ran into the party.

She started to panic. Her body reacted before her brain could, and now she had no clue how to act. She'd already gone this far, though.

Weaving through the crowd, one of them shouted after her. She couldn't make out what they were saying over the music flooding her ears. Pecan took a minute to glance behind her, seeing the two perpetrators still following them. Her mind was racing.

The girl was by her side, and in a quick motion, she took Pecan's arm and ran in front.

"Come on! This way!"

She tugged her forwards, guiding her towards their exit.

Pulling the window open, both of them jumped out. They landed in the street, illuminated with lights as they sprinted away.

It was raining.

The girl continued to drag Pecan around, leading them to an alleyway to hide.

"Woah-"

Pecan slips. Before she can fall, she catches her.

She shushed her. She's smiling.

They're out of sight now, and it's just the two of them, alone in a literal dumpster.

She pauses, immediately breaking into a fit of laughter. Pecan begins laughing too.

"Oh man, that was insane! Or maybe it's just because I'm drunk."

They're silent for a while. All Pecan can hear was the soft sound of raindrops landing on the pavement.

"...Pecan, was it?"

She nods.

"I-I can't believe I did that! And got away with it!" Pecan says quietly, panting.

The girl reaches over to pat her shoulder.

"Thank you again. I really owe you one."

Pecan waves her hand.

"Hey, don't mention it… uh-" She drew a blank.

"It's Snewpee."

She grins.

"Snewpee."

The two brush themselves off and leave the alley.

"You need a ride? My sister's coming to pick me up. You could tag along if you'd like. We'll drop you off wherever."

Pecan thought for a bit. Usually you don't get in the cars of people you just met. However, she was a bit drunk.

"Yeah! Sure. Oh uh- I can-"

She sifts through her pockets.

"No no, no payment. You saved my ass. I ain't making you pay after that."

Pecan smiled at her.

"So!" Snewpee starts, tossing an arm around a very flustered Pecan's shoulders.

"You new here?"

Pecan giggles to herself, before continuing the conversation with her new friend.

Andddd that's a wrap! Sorry y'all idk what to do now.
