The rain pitter pattered against the windows, the blooming gray clouds blotting out the sun.

The two sat bundled up on their couch. They both shared a blanket, wrapped around their bodies as they huddled for warmth.

She could still feel him shivering.

"Are you alright?" Shima asked.

"Mhm. Just a bit cold." He replied.

She smiled, and pulled Zara in.

As she embraced him, he rested on her chest and listened to her heartbeat. It always calmed him down.

"That better?"

He blushed.

"Yeah, thanks."

She grinned again, kissing his forehead tenderly. She held his face in her hands like it was the most precious thing in the world.

Her eyes met his.

It took four, maybe three seconds for him to get all flustered.

Shima snorted.

"What's got you all tomato faced?"

He looks away. Tries too, anyway.

"Nothing."

There's a pause. The atmosphere is thick.

"Mmh? Really?"

She inches closer, making a point to not break eye contact. She knew how to get under his skin.

"Nothing at all?" Shima purrs, tilting his chin up to force his attention back onto her.

"...Look at me, Zara."

He does as she says. How could he not?

Not a moment later, their lips meet.

His head spun. Shima's hand found his, interlocking their fingers. She kept him there, for as long as she wanted.

When they parted, he was panting, cheeks still flush with color.

She thought he was absolutely adorable in this state.

"You're so cute." She chuckled.

Zara buries himself in the crook of her neck, sighing. He said something in response, but it was muffled beneath her fur. She just patted him affectionately.
