It didn't take long for the girl and Blondie to become the center of the freshmen classes' conversations.

In fact, it only took three class periods and a chattermouth friend for it to spread.

It also didn't take long for the girl to realize how much she enjoyed hearing her boyfriend's name alongside hers, escape from peoples lips. Less than a week, to be exact.

The date they'd gone on that Saturday night was the most fun she'd ever had. They spent the hours of fading light in the city where Blondie showed her around, walking around the busied sidewalks and admiring the pretty window displays (which were still decorated from Christmas).

Together they laughed at how ridiculous they looked with nearly blue lips and chattering teeth, all tucked up in coats that rivaled marshmallows and beanie caps. Blondie had intertwined his fingers with the girl's gloved ones and placed them inside his pocket to keep them warm  and brushed snowflakes out of the girl's eyesbrows with his free thumb, smiling wider as could be; and the girl stuck her tongue out to catch the crystals and scrunched her nose at him.

She was taken aback at his abruptness, when she found herself getting tugged by her coat sleeve into a building. Immediately, she was warmed from the toes of her too thin boots to the tips of her pink ears from the little shops heat. With curious eyes and parted lips, she gazed up at Blondie, lowering her eyebrows once.

"The home of the best chai tea in town, alongside the most amazing chocolate cakes you'll ever have." He simply replied, forming a satisfied smirk at her expression (which was slowly turning into one of pure excitement.)

He intertwined his fingers with the girl's and guided her to the booth rested up against the window, where they could look out across the city. They could just see the beginnings of the ocean from between the high rise buildings, and the girl couldn't help but imagine swimming against the waves in the summer.

Smalltalk was never a thing between the two, with the smooth talker that Blondie was and the bubbly persona the girl held. Instantly the topic turned to one of interest and excitement, and when the café attendent came around, she almost didn't want to interrupt them, they looked so content.

But soon they had ordered their drinks, soup and an assorted cakes platter and were off to the topic again. The girl couldn't stop smiling the whole time, and she managed to refrain from her cheeks flushing the color of the vinyl cover on the booth she was sitting on.

After the food arrived, the talking slowed to a near halt, for the girl had fallen into a state of awe after the first bite. "Holy shit." She whispered, eyes brightening.

Blondie through his head back and laughed, his nearly tok white teeth making an appearance. "I knew you'd like it." He said, resting his hand on her tiny one and grazing his thumb along hers.

The rest of their dinner ended up with them gazing into each other's eyes and falling into a trance from the wonderful food.

When it came time to leave, the girl grabbed her to go cup of tea so she could keep her fingers warm, and Blondie carried the box of extra cakes for her to take home. They walked along the beachfront trail to make their way back to the train station, enjoying the faint smell of the ocean and the view of the disappearing sun.

"It's beautiful." The girl found herself saying as she took a sip of her drink, her eyes still fixed on the horizon. "I don't think I've seen anything so.. breathtaking."

It didn't take long for Blondie to reply, "Then you haven't seen yourself yet." She could hear the smirk on his lips even before she turned to look up at him.

"That's got to be one of the most cliché things I've ever heard in my entire life." She said, rolling her eyes at him. Then she took one last look at the ocean before they stepped into the train station. "But, I liked it, it was believable. Almost."

When the glass door shut behind them, encasing them in a room filled with the hustle of busy people, the girl let out a content sigh. What a wonderful night.

"Of course you believed it. Because I said it." Blondie countered.

Also, news for my loveys who have taken the time to read my prequels: Book two of the (newly titled) "Nameless" series is coming soon! The idea just came to me today and I really love it. Its going to be a bit shorter than RC, but I think it'll still be pretty cool.)
