"Oh, home. Let me come home.
Home is wherever I'm with you."

I WAS TRYING MY ABSOLUTE hardest not to fall asleep in Nico's lap as I read one of my new books that he got me.

It was hard, though.

Laying in the comfort of someone you've known and loved your whole life was just different.

The soft nothings he would pause to whisper in my ear as he talked to the men in his office.

They put me at ease.

And made my heart pound slightly faster with each one.

Eventually, the book in my hands wasn't enough to drown out the men's deep voices, so I close it, leaning my head back slowly against Nico's shoulder.

My eyes begin to close, drooping slowly as sleep consumed my every thought.

And sleep is what came.

But I was woken by a shake of my shoulders too soon for my liking.

I groan, turning in Nico's lap to hug him close to me. I ignored how he was trying to wake me up and instead focused on trying to go back to that peaceful slumber that I was just in.

"It's noon, baby." I groan again in response, furrowing my brows before pushing off his chest and rubbing my face with the palms of my hand.

"How is it noon?" I grumble, and he laughs.

"Usually when you sleep all day, that's what happens, little Rose."

I narrow my eyes a little. "Stop being smart." I say softly, too sleepy to really care.

He grins, chuckling deep enough to cause his chest to rumble against mine.

"Just come here and kiss me."

"But if I do that, you know it'll be more than just kissing."

"Not if you don't want it to be."

I shake my head with a huff of amusement through my nose and lean forward to connect my lips with his.

My body reacts as it always does. Flushing with need—a need for him and only him, of course.

I turn my head to deepen the kiss, threading my fingers through his hair and subconsciously pulling on the dark, silky strands.

He groans against my lips, breathing heavily, causing his chest to rise and fall noticeably.

I loved when he did that.

I will myself to stop, leaning back with deep breaths. The aftereffects of how much that kiss did to me and how every kiss that we share does to me.

Nico grabs my book for me, lifting me up by my waist and standing up before placing me back down.
