Can this girl give me a break? I'm trying to be nice. What's her problem?
After the little fiasco in English, I hurry to keep up with my classes. I had to ask a couple of other kids where I should go and they were all too happy to oblige. Especially the girls.
Yet, you'd think with my getting lost and such that I'd just blow off the whole problem with the girl. Only, I can't stop thinking about why.
Why does she hate me so much? Why did she throw comebacks at me like a machine gun? And why am I still thinking about her when there are plenty of other girls who'd act so much nicer to me?
All of it's giving me a headache the size of Texas. Not that I've ever been to Texas.
As I roam the halls between classes, girls giggle and squeal behind their hands. I don't know what I'm searching for until she turns the corner.
Her chocolate brown hair bounces in waves around her shoulders as her shocking blue eyes read a copy of Twilight. People slide out of her way and more than one pair of a boy's eyes follow her figure.
Her eyes travel away from the words and catch me looking. She gives me a surprised look and purses her lips, angry. I lower my face to the floor and turn red. Instead of walking away like I think, she stops and turns to me. I have no choice but to look up at her.
"Do you have a problem or something?" Lily spits. "If so, tell someone else who doesn't mind talking to you."
"N-no," I stammer. Her eyes lock me into place.
"Then why are you staring and, seemingly, following me? If that's not creepy, I don't know what is."
"I-I..." What do I say to that? It's basically what I'm doing, so I just whisper, "I'm sorry."
"If you're sorry, stop chasing after me. You'll be disappointed if you keep it up." With that, she walks away.
Disappointed? What did she mean by that? Sometimes, it's impossible to figure out that girl's thoughts. Why does she want to be a mystery? To have more guys chase after her? But, it seemed like she wants the opposite. Does she not want anyone to care about her? God, if only I could get into her mind and see how it works. These small town folk seem to think for themselves, unlike LA residents.
What am I going to do?
