We continued our rapport when we both got back to Lagos. He lived in a nice part of town, his house was tastefully done up although in retrospect, everything seemed run down from lack of maintenance. Of course I did not notice all that when I first visited him; I guess I was still pinching myself over my goodluck. It never occurred to me to look closer. I excitedly told my very close friend about him and it turned out that she knew him and his family well enough. She told me that he had been living in Washington, but she was not quite sure what he was doing. That encouraged me to strike up a relationship with him especially also because he came from a family with a pedigree that stretched back to two generations. His sister was a lecturer at the University of Abuja, his parents were both professors at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His grandfather was a business tycoon back in the days.
