"Breaking news, instant report that 6 teenagers were found near the train tracks, wounded and unconscious. We will further investigate the problem but for now-"
My mom turned the television off with a snap, and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Amira, you should be studying." she said before placing the remote on the counter again. "Watching news about idiots being reckless is a waste of time."
"Of course mama." I said, quickly finishing my plate of rice and grilled chicken. "Sorry."
My family is very stern about my future, and if they ever found I secretly had an obsession with the surfers, they would probably kill me.
I rinsed my plate and put it in the dishwasher before kissing my fathers cheek and running into my bedroom.
I took out my textbook, and my laptop, deciding to pretend to research and study for my exams. I already know everything I have to know though, I don't worry that much.
I pulled up my Doc essay but created a new tab as well.
I was doing research, but not about Chinese history.
I turned up the volume on my apple laptop and listened in on what was happening at the train tracks.
"We have identified the unconscious suspects and we will read them off, the first is a 16 year old girl named Tricky. The second is a 17 year old boy named Jake. The third is a 17 year old boy names Prince K. The fourth, Lucy. The fifth, Zoe. And the very last, Tasha. We will bring more news on the event but for now we're taking a little break."
I knew Prince K, Lucy and Tasha.
They're all in my science class, I can't believe that they might be... well gone for now.
I grabbed my leather jacket and pulled it over my head before opening my small bedroom window.
The jump was about 3 feet, and I did it all the time so I grabbed my board and hopped out onto the streets of the night.
