Fatespeaker was sitting in the hatchery looking at her and Starflight's egg. She was looking at the black egg that was sitting in the moon light. Suddenly the egg turned silver.
" Fatespeaker" Starflight whispered. " It's midnight"
" Starflight, the egg turned silver. I think it's hatching soon." Fatespeaker said with excitement.
" Come sleep" Starflight begged.
" Fine" Fatespeaker said getting up and walking to Starflight's cave
The Next Morning
Fatespeaker was sleeping peacefully when Starflight woke her up.
" I'm going to the Rainforest, love you." He said
" This early" Fatespeaker mumbled sleepily.
" It's one hour until lunch" Starflight replied. Fatespeaker shot up.
" Bye" She said running down the hall into the hatchery. She curled up next to the silver egg and was determined to stay there.
The wind was cool on Starflight's wings as he flew over to the Rainforest. As he came closser he started to descend looking for Deathbringer. He spotted Deathbringer and Jambu at the edge of the forest talking.
" Hello" Starflight called as he swooped down landing in front of Deathbringer
" Hello" Jambu said
" Nice to see you" Deathbringer said " Follow me". Jambu and Deathbringer lead him through the forest past the Nightwing village, ducking and turning to avoid trees. Until, finally they made it to the Rainwing village. Deathbringer led him up to the royal pavilion where Clay, Sunny and Glory were already waiting. Deathbringer walked over to Glory and whispered something into her ear and she nodded. Deathbringer left with Jambu and she stood up.
" I'll go see if Tsunami is here yet" Glory said jumping off the platform. A few minutes later she came back with Tsunami. After catching up on each other's lives. Glory showed them where their guest huts were.
" Glory" Starflight said when they were alone in his hut.
" What" She asked.
" Fatespeaker and I want to move to the Rainforest." Starflight said
" That's great" Glory said. " This hut would be great for you but wait until she comes to see if she likes it."
That night as he was going to sleep Fatespeaker burst in the door of his hut their egg in her talons.
" The egg is hatching soon"
The Next Morning
" This is a nice house" Fatespeaker said to Glory.
" Don't worry Starflight, I'll ask Mightyclaws to add a scroll rack." Glory joked.
" It's all wonderful, thanks." Fatespeaker said and Starflight nodded. As soon as Glory walked out of the hut Fatespeaker started to cuddle up next to the egg.
"When's it going to hatch" Starflight asked, he had read a scroll about it that mothers get a sixth sense and know when their egg is going to hatch.
" Tonight" She said. " And I'm not leaving until then." Fatespeaker declared.
" Do you want a scroll" Starflight asked unsure of what to do. Fatespeaker laughed.
" No, but could you bring me some fruit." She asked.
" Sure I'll be right back." Starflight said coming out of the hut.
" hey" Starflight Clay said.
" HI, Where can I get fruit" He asked Clay and is stomach growled.
" I could use a bite too" Clay agreed when he looked up in the tree and saw Mangrove.
" Mangrove" Clay called and the startled rainwing turned around.
" Where can we get fruit" Starflight asked.
" On the centre platform, follow me" Mangrove said.
Over the day Starflight supplied Fatespeaker with food, water, and company. The egg moved a little all day but when nightfall came the egg became very active. When the light from the moons hit the egg it started to crack. Fatespeaker gasped and Starflight stood there in shock as A little head poked through the shell. Tiny talons broke out and the egg shell shattered. The little drgonet curled up by his mother and gazed at the moons. When Fatespeaker moved away from the light, the little dragonet tried to pull her back.
" What should we name him" Starflight asked.
" How about Nightfall" Fatespeaker suggested.
" I love it" He replied. That night Fatespeaker, Starflight, and Nightfall. Curled up under the moons as a new family.
