Joe snuggled closer to Taylor, as he ran his hand down her back.

It was rare to have a quiet night as bedtime was always difficult with her little whirlwind.

Little Ellian had fallen asleep after playing outside, so Joe put her to bed a little earlier than usual. This gave him and Taylor a little time to spend together.

They both went to bed early, just to cuddle and watch a movie.

Joe was so comfortable in Taylor's arms that he closed his eyes. He wasn't tired, just so happy to have a moment alone with his wife that he struggled to keep his eyes open.

-Are you tired, honey? You know we can save the movie for another time.

-I'm still awake, I promise- Joe smiled at Taylor as he ran his strong hands up and down her back.

What would be a sweet kiss turned into a passionate kiss, one so deep that it put Taylor on Joe's lap.

However, they both pulled away when they heard something that made their hearts pound and their skin crawl.

The loud, terrifying sound of their little girl screaming at the top of her lungs.

Taylor believed that one of her greatest fears had come true, that someone had broken into her home to hurt her daughter.

Taylor looked at Joe in terror, he knew his wife perfectly well and could predict that thought.

They both jumped out of bed and ran at full speed to the bedroom down the hall.

Taylor turned on the light and saw the little blonde sitting on the edge of the bed with the little bunny Joe had bought when he knew they were expecting a sweet baby girl, tears running down her cheeks.

-Elli? Honey, what happened?

-There was a monster-Joe frowned but looked around as usual, hoping it would help him calm down.

-He was in my dream. It was scary.

-Oh, honey. It was just a dream. A very bad dream.

Joe looked at Taylor and saw her eyes turn sad. He knew how much she feared for her daughter's safety, that had been her biggest nightmare since her pregnancy. The sobbing little blonde pulled away from her mother's arms to receive a hug from her father as well.

-Oh, my baby. It's all right. It's all right now. It was just a dream.

-Is my room safe?-She sobbed as she looked at her parents.

-Oh, it's as safe as it gets. I checked everywhere and there are no monsters in sight. I think you scared them all with your scream-Joe joked and tickled her playfully.

Ellie's laughter came through, leaving Taylor to wipe the tears from her cheeks.

-Are you sleepy? You look sleepy-Joe said as he ran his fingers through your messy blonde hair.

-Do you think you can go back to sleep?-Taylor asked, only for Ellie to quickly shake her head.

-How about I read you a story?-Ellie denied as she stroked Joe's beard.

-Not even your favorite story?-Taylor gasped and Ellie laughed again.

-How about you sleep with us tonight-Joe suggested.

Quickly, Ellie nodded and got out of bed.

Joe took Ellie in his arms and Taylor brought the pink blanket where she had embroidered her daughter's initials.

-My bunny-she made that pout that looked just like Taylor's, making Joe smile, The blonde returned to the bedroom to take the little bunny and follow Ellie and Joe into the bedroom.

Taylor and Joe lay down, Ellie snuggled between them.

-No more nightmares tonight. Daddy and I will take care of you-Taylor assured and kissed her forehead before beginning to sing sweet nothing softly.

Ellie's eyes closed and so did Joe's, though Taylor didn't know it, as she was too focused on making sure Ellie went back to sleep.

Once Taylor knew that Ellie was sound asleep, she looked over at Joe and shook her head with a big smile on her face to find the blond sound asleep as well.

-They're adorable-She giggled and grabbed her phone to take some pictures of Joe and Elli to send to her mother and mother-in-law and then snuggle up to them.

She loved sleeping with Joe alone, but she wouldn't trade sleeping with her daughter for the world. She laid her head back and closed her eyes, and quickly fell asleep feeling as warm as possible with a small smile on her face.
