"Do you like it?" Jisoo asked, her eyes gleaming with anticipation as she presented you with a bouquet of vibrant sunflowers.
Their yellow petals seemed to capture the essence of sunshine itself, radiating warmth and happiness.
"Wow. How did you know that I like sunflowers?" you asked, genuinely surprised by her choice of gift.
She gave you a sweet smile, her fingers gently playing with your hair as she leaned in closer. "Ah. I have my ways," she replied, her voice filled with a hint of mystery.
You looked at her, your eyebrow raised in curiosity. "Why are you giving me this though? Isn't this too romantic for a friend to do?" you asked, your words laced with a mix of confusion and concern.
Jisoo's gaze held yours, and she leaned forward suddenly, causing you to almost lose your balance.
Your faces were inches apart, and you could feel the warmth of her breath against your skin.
The proximity between you two made you acutely aware of your surroundings, the university campus bustling with students.
"A beautiful girl like you deserves a beautiful gift," she whispered into your ear, her voice like a delicate melody that sent shivers down your spine.
As her words lingered in the air, a sudden pang of realization struck you.
Why was Jisoo acting this way all of a sudden? Was there something more to her intentions?
"Don't tell me you like me," you uttered bluntly, unable to suppress the question burning within you.
A mischievous smirk curved Jisoo's lips, and her eyes sparkled with unwavering confidence. "Why wouldn't I like you? You're the prettiest," she confessed boldly, her words leaving no room for doubt.
The weight of her admission hung in the air, creating a tension that seemed to stretch time itself. Your mind raced, trying to make sense of Jisoo's sudden confession and the implications it held for your friendship.
"Really now," you said, your voice barely above a whisper as you struggled to process the unexpected turn of events.
Jisoo's gaze intensified, her eyes unwavering. "Don't you trust me?" she asked, her voice filled with both vulnerability and conviction.
A mix of emotions surged within you, conflicting thoughts and insecurities colliding. "Trusting people is something that I don't do," you confessed, the weight of your past experiences coloring your words.
Just as the silence threatened to consume you, a voice, familiar and comforting, broke through the haze of uncertainty.
It wasn't Jisoo who spoke, but Rosé, standing before you with two corndogs in her hands.
Her usually warm expression had given way to an uncharacteristic coldness, her eyes locked onto the sunflowers in your grasp.
"Hey, Rosie," you greeted, a tinge of curiosity in your voice as you tried to understand the sudden change in her demeanor. "I think Jisoo is just playing around."
You took a step towards Rosé, hoping to bridge the growing divide between them.
But her eyes remained fixed on the sunflowers, her gaze piercing through Jisoo.
"What's the flower for?" she questioned, her voice laced with an underlying warning, daring Jisoo to answer. "Don't you know your limits, Jisoo?"
Time seemed to freeze, and you found yourself caught in the crossfire of conflicting emotions.
The intensity of Rosé's cold expression and her protective stance took you aback, for this was the first time you had ever seen this side of her.
