The next day dawned with a heavy cloud hanging over it.
You hadn't seen or heard from Rosé since she met up with her dad.
Worried sick, you found yourself outside one of her classes, desperately seeking answers.
"Hey, have you seen Rosie today?" you asked one of her block mates, hoping for any information.
"Unfortunately, no. I don't think she's even at the university today," the guy replied. "Didn't she tell you?"
You shook your head, feeling a sense of defeat wash over you. Just as you were about to give up and walk away, you pulled out your phone and dialed her number, hoping for a miracle.
"She won't even pick up my call," you whispered to yourself, feeling a sinking feeling in your chest.
Suddenly, an arm around your shoulder startled you. You turned to see Lisa standing there, concern etched on her face.
"Who's not picking up?" she asked gently.
"It's... Rosie. She's not in her classes today, and she's not answering my messages or calls," you replied, your voice filled with worry.
Lisa's face darkened, and she sighed. "It must be because of her dad," she said, her voice filled with understanding.
Confused, you tilted your head and asked, "What is it about him that bothers all of you so much?"
The two of you continued walking together until a bench caught your attention.
You sat down, and Lisa took a deep breath before speaking.
"He's a king homophobic," she said, causing you to flinch.
What?
Then... what chance do I have?you thought to yourself, feeling a sense of hopelessness creep in.
"Oh, well, uh, how did you know?" you asked, curiosity getting the better of you.
"We've been friends forever, Rosé and I. You're not her first girl, if that doesn't bother you. I've witnessed someone else," Lisa explained, her hand resting gently on your shoulder. "Her dad has done this before. He actually forced her to break up with her last relationship because he said he doesn't want his daughter to be a lesbian."
You sighed, the weight of the situation sinking in. "That bad?" you asked, feeling a mixture of concern and determination.
Lisa nodded, her eyes filled with empathy. "Yes, it is. So, prepare yourself," she paused, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Though I think Rosé is more sure of her feelings this time. She will fight for you, that's for sure. So, stop worrying."
---
The day went on, and you heard nothing from Rosé. Despite your conversation with Lisa, you couldn't help but worry.
Unable to sleep in the middle of the night, you decided to get up and leave your apartment.
But as you opened your door, you came face to face with Rosé.
Her face was pale, her eyes filled with tears as if she had been crying nonstop.
Concern flooded through you, and without thinking, you pulled her into your arms.
"Rosie! Hey, are you okay?" you asked, your voice filled with love and worry.
You led her inside and sat her down on the couch, never letting go of her.
