 demons, beings who can murder people without any remorse, how resentful, although, there are some demons who have kept their humanity, Nezuko kamado has never eaten a human since she became a demon, fascinatingly she's not the only one, there's also tamayo and yushiro who don't need human blood. No matter how many times i've tried to explain this to shinobu, she still won't change her mind, maybe just maybe if her older sister, my best friend kanae kocho wasn't killed by a demon, maybe then she would change her mind.

Kanae always believed the good in everyone, even demons, it was heartbreaking to find out she was killed by upper moon 2. It must have been really hard for Shinobu and Kanao.

With Kanae gone it's been pretty boring and depressing, nothing really happens at HQ, one day we heard that a demon slayer was traveling with a demon! we were all in shock, but when they arrived i saw a bit of kanae in that red hair boy, most demon slayer kill every demon any chance they get, when this boy was traveling with his little sister, knowing the consequences. Most of the other hashira's didn't like him, they thought he should be killed and be put out of his missay, but Oyakata-sama forgave him, and let him continue to travel with the demon, it turns out that was his little sister, tanjiro and nezuko kamado have been fighting demons with the masters blessing ever since. months later, while i was walking in the woods on my potrol something came to my mind, if a demon who doesn't need human blood to live, likes Nezuko, could be a part of the demon slayer corp, why don't we try to find other demons like nezuko?

with that question playing on repeat in my head i went for help, Oyakata-sama sat across from me on the floor, i bowed my head in respect, "what is it akari?" he said in his soft voice, "would it be possible to find more demons like nezuko?" i asked with the wheels in my head still turning, Oyakata-sama smiled softly, "Nezuko kamado is the only demon i've seen that doesn't need consume humans to get her strength, i believe this is because she was holding onto her humanity, it's very possible to find demons that have humanity, but the chances of finding one that are willing to help destroy muzan are very slim" he did have a point, "very well master" i  bowed my head again before I got up. Shinobu walked around the butterfly mansion, "hey shinobu!" she raised her eyes to meet mine "hello Keiko '' she said as she smiled and walked away. Shinobu hasn't been the same since kanae passed, but who can blame her? That was her sister after all. like me, shinobu and kanae lost their parents to a demon attack, they were rescued by the stone hashira, gyomei. i, on the other hand wasn't so lucky, i was pretty much dead when someone found me, after my family's attack i couldn't stay in our home, the demon who killed my parents just looked at me and left, i found it really weird since i was only 8 at the time, wouldn't it have been an easy kill?

Rengoku's father saved me, found me wandering in the woods with deep cuts in my legs from when I tried to shield my parents from the demon's attack.   I decided to go for a walk in the woods. It was pretty nice out, wasn't too hot nor cold, I heard a sound coming from behind me, I turned around and saw a demon, I reached for my weapon, "crap!" I screamed as I noticed that I left it at the butterfly mansion. i started to panic, until i looked into the demon's eyes, she seemed scared, like she didn't understand why i was panicking, i took a deep breath "are you okay miss?" i calmed down, she looked at me terrified, her blue kimono was dirty and her blonde and purple hair was all knotted, "is there something i can do to help you?" she was definitely a demon, but she didn't seem like one. "m-my brother" the girl spoke, "your brother?" the girl nodded, she didn't look like she was older than 13, "h-he was-" she stuttered "he was killed by demons?" i asked, she widened her eyes and nodded, "what's your name miss?" she looked at me, almost like she was trying to remember " my name is mai..." she said, "what's your last name?" "I'm sorry but I don't remember," I nodded in sympathy, "can you take me to where the attack was?" i said, once again she nodded "i just need to go get my sword real quick" as i started to run for the mention the girl grabbed my arm "p-please don't leave me" she said, but what if the demons were still there? What if this was all a trick? i looked in her eyes and saw nothing but a pure blue sky, "alright, lead the way"
