                           Julian

"Julian, you should move on now," said my mother, as the maids served dinner on the table.

My mother, Raven Russo, had been insisting that I move on since last week. It was strange for her to say that because she loved Madeline more than us. She even scolded me for her. Even she loved her. Whenever they tried to make fun of me, they did it together, teasing me about how I looked as a child and how I got scared of cockroaches.

I just glared at them, but later, I would punish my wife for making fun of me by fucking her harder. The next day, when she couldn't walk properly, I would make fun of her, and she would glare at me.

I also put chili powder in my mother's coffee, and when she drank it, she spilled it all over the counter and on her clothes. If you're wondering why I did all these things, it's because I secretly recorded their reactions to show them later. It was always worth it.

"Are you listening, Julian?" my mother questioned me while frowning.

"Yeah, mom, what did you say?" I replied to her.

"I'm telling you I found a girl for you," she stated to me, looking serious.

"Mom, please, I already told you not to do these stupid things," I told her, clearly annoyed by her behavior.

"Julian, this is not something stupid. You have to move on. Do you want to grow older by being stuck on some girl?" she exclaimed, looking angry.

I chuckled. Some girl. "Mom, she's not some girl. She was your daughter-in-law. Not just a daughter-in-law. You treated her like your own daughter, and she treated you like her own mother because she didn't have her own family. How can your mind suddenly change?" I let it out because until last week, she was defending her.

"I treated her like my own daughter, but what did she do, Julian? Tell me, she left you. She didn't even think about me. I loved her like my own," she declared clearly. And added, "You know Lucy is right; if she loved you, she wouldn't have left you. I should have listened to her for the past three years. I finally understand."

Lucy. What does she have to do with moving on? Why would she say these useless things? Why would she say anything against her own best friend when she should be defending her? I don't understand...

"Julian, I found a girl for you, and that's final. Your dad is coming back tomorrow, and I'll tell him too," she ended the conversation with a sigh.

"Mom, you can't do that. Whoever this girl is that you have found, I'm not going to marry her," I slammed my hand on the table, trying not to scare her.

"Julian, please listen to your mom and marry Lucy. She's the girl I've found for you. She won't leave you like her best friend did," she declared, giving me the biggest shock. I stared at her.

"Why does Lucy want to marry me?" I asked, getting confused.

"Because she thinks her best friend left you, so she wants to help you," she replied, making me even more confused.

Why would she want to help me? What would she gain from that? I chuckled, obviously nothing from me.

"Mom, I'm telling you again, I don't want to marry anyone. Please, don't make things hard for me," I told her, got up from the chair, and went out without listening to her, heading to my room.

I don't think she is going to listen to me, but I am not going to marry anyone, while thinking, I drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, I woke up to the ringing sound of my phone. I picked it up and answered the call.

"Hello," I slightly frowned. It was my assistant, Jonas, calling in the morning.

"Good morning, sir. I have to talk about the deal that we sealed yesterday," he stated to me.

"Yes, what about it?" I asked him, still frowning.

"Sir, the meeting is going to be held next week. I spoke to their assistant, and their assistant confirmed their agreement," he replied. So, the meeting is going to be held next week. I hope it can help me forget things for a while.

"Great, Jonas. Thanks for informing me," I thanked him and ended the call with a sigh. Now, since it will be my first investment in the past three years, it will be complicated.

"Sir, your mom is waiting downstairs for breakfast," the maid called me, interrupting my thoughts while knocking.

"Okay, I am coming. Please let her know," I said to her.

She paused for a while and added, "Your father also came, and he is downstairs as well."

Father. Mom wanted to talk to him about my marriage. I hope she has forgotten about it.

I sighed, told her to go, and went downstairs afterwards. I saw my dad, William Russo, sitting on a chair, waiting for me. "Hello, Dad. How was your business trip?"

"It was good, son. What about you? Are you doing well? I understand you haven't been working much in the past three years, but you should start working now," he stated to me, giving me a concerned look.

"yeah. I know, Dad, but Mom-" I was going to tell him about what Mom had told me, but my mom interrupted our conversation as she entered the room.

"William, I told him to move on, but he's not listening. I even found a girl for him, Lucy. She's ready for marriage," my mom said to Dad, making me even more irritated. Why doesn't she understand that moving on is not an easy thing?

"Lucy? Isn't she Madeline's best friend, Raven?" my dad questioned her, with a frown.

"Yes, she is a good match for him. She even helped me yesterday. She is kind," Mom said to my dad. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Mom, I told you-" Dad interrupted my talk. Why are they interrupting me today? "Raven, it's not a good thing to force our son to marry this girl. It's his choice, you shouldn't force him," Dad clearly stated to her.

"Right, Mom, please don't do these things," I sighed.

"Okay, okay, I understand you both, but I am still telling her to take care of you," she told me.

"Like I care. Let her do whatever she wants, but tell her not to touch or invade my privacy," I stated while rolling my eyes.
